thought i should be polite and say hello before i start posting like a demented gibbon.

Are you a fan of Iain Banks? I studied his novel 'The Crow Road' last year and really enjoyed it.

Oh yes, and welcome! Demented gibbon or not, I'm sure you'll fit in fine here!

The Crow Road was the first of his that I read - would've been pretty cool to study I'd say? Dead Air is a good read too.

Once I got past the initial 'what on earth is this book about?!' stage, it was very interesting, and relatively easy to look at from an analytical point of view as well.
