i need to know how to name chords, how to recognise the different types of chords i.e. tonic, subdominant, dominant and supertonic.
please cud someone give me a hand. i wont see my teach for a month yet and my parents are musically... nothing.

I'm assuming you know how to work out what chords are in a scale but I included an example for C Mjoar just incase:
I - C Major ii - D Minor iii - E Minor IV - F Major V - G Major vi - A Minor vii* - B Diminished
The name for the chords is basically something to put in the place of the roman numerals. Here's another chart with the name of the chords in there instead of the roman numeral.
Tonic - C Major Supertonic - D Minor Mediant - E Minor Subdominant - F Major Dominant - G Major Sub-mediant - A Minor Leading - B Diminished
I hope that helps. Try making up a saying to remember the order, I don't have one to help you here sorry but I'm sure you can make up your own if you're struggling. If there's anything I've not made clear enough or that you're confused about just ask.
