That's great, Ben! Lots of work for them all to do for Step now then. Glad it's not me! tongue.gif

Haha yes! I've just been looking at some step past papers...only able to do bits of a few questions..then again I've only done C1 and bits of C2. tongue.gif

So are you wondering about applying to Cambridge yourself next year, Ben?

Sure am! Not for maths though! I'm far too rubbish to do maths heh!

I'm interested in their Natural Science course! It seems really good as I'm one of those people that likes to do everything, and that allows you do lots of things in the first 2 years and specialise in the 3rd and 4th year...so I could do Biology, Computing, Maths and Chem in the first year..then ChemA and ChemB and Maths in the second year and then specialise in Chem after smile.gif

So i'm going to work towards that biggrin.gif

I got REJECTED I didn't want to go there, but it's still a rejection...

Sorry to hear that. If it makes you feel any better I got rejected TWICE! I was desperate to go so applied once before getting my A-level results (didn't get in) and waited another year to apply (in vain) again. wacko.gif Oh well, nobody from my family had ever been to uni and no-one from my comp had any idea about the selection process so I was woefully unprepared...

Where do you think you will go?

You've obviously thought this through, Ben. It sounds as if the Cambridge course would suit you very well, and I look forward to hearing some good news for you in a year's time!

Chemistry is hard at A2 - my son did very well in AS (293/300), but is finding the A2 much trickier. They do Salter's at his school, and he loves the experimental side, but the theory is difficult. I hope you continue to sail through it next year.

I spend too much time thinking! tongue.gif If I don't get in though i'll be applying to do a MSci in Chemistry and Maths at other places probably as they are where my main intrests lie!

I'm not finding AS that bad at the moment. Few things that make me think, but I get it all pretty much straight away. So yeh, hope it continues like this smile.gif

Congratulations to all of those who got in and commiserations for those who didn't. University is great wherever you go.

That's what I did and I agree that it's really good, especially for people who were good at all of the sciences at school and would like to have a broad base. I did Physics, Chem, Materials and Maths in my first year - one thing that became clear to me very quickly was that I wasn't going to be a Chemist!

Some people end up surprising themselves with what they end up taking for Part II - I know a few people who thought that they were going to become Physicists and ended up prefering Biology or Geology.

Congratulations for people who got in!
