Dear Everyone
The next Adult Learner event will be on 2nd February 2008, in Teddington. Bookings are now open.
All details on the website
here. Please remember, this opportunity is also open to Adult Learners who are not forums members - so teachers, please let any of your adult pupils who might be interested in taking part know about it.
And if you have any queries, you know who to ask

Cheers

With a degree of efficiency that is *totally* out of character I have put my form in the post, booked a place to stay and booked a flight!
Just hope the event isn't cancelled!
I have put down that my piece is to be confirmed.
The local music festival has an "Adult Instrumental Class" and is the last week in January, and I'm working hard on my piece for that, but I'd like to do something different in Teddington - only issue is What??
Have a couple of ideas.
Well done KatyJay!!

I have very few things already booked for February.
But one of those few things is on February 2nd.
So I'm afraid, for the third year in a row, I can't come.
Sorry...

And ALMOST enough time to practise...

I'm not good at advance planning

but can't see why this date should be a problem so I HOPE to be there - just need to get myself organised!

I've had an enquiry from an NPL member of staff. She plays the sax to about grade 3 standard and is looking to form a small ensemble (maybe three players in total, not necessarily all sax players) to perform a piece at this event.
Any takers out there?

My main computer won't allow me to access the details and application form

- it's spent an age saying it's checking out for phishing, so I don't think it will let me view it. I'll try on my laptop, which is not protected by the dreaded Bullguard.

Well, as John Inman was wont to say, I'm free. Dust off your earplugs, my fellow Forummers, as I shall
massacre perform something on piano in in February.
How are the applications coming along, katyjay?

I still have the music from when you didn't play it. (erm.. if that makes sense)
If you are stuck for inspiration I'd love to do that.
If I can pursuade my husband to either sing or play his guitar. (I love listening to him doing classical stuff) then we'll go especially if we can find a babysitter. he definately counts as an adult learner and it would do him the world of good.

The Teddington event sounds great, and I'd love to come - but before booking I need to twist the arm of my clarinet-playing duet partner...we keep saying we need to play to someone, and this would be very good for us. Also need to check out travel possibilities from Norwich, as we'd need to do there and back in a day.

probably the best thing is to drive... it's about 3 hours
If you don't fancy the drive, then it's train to Liverpool Street, across to Waterloo and down to Teddington station and probably someone will pick you up from the station...

You can bring your own accompanist if you like but usually there are enough volunteer accompanists around to manage. If you put on your form (or let Katyjay know if you missed it off) that you need an accompanist she will match you up with someone soon after the closing date so that you have time to send your music.
