A bunch of friends and myself are going to do world challenge. For that we need to raise £4000 each. So I typed 'fundraising ideas' into google and this came up... too good to be true?

Any other fundraising ideas welcome smile.gif We're quite happy to make fools of ourselves!!

Lots of schools already do this type of fundraising, as does our local music provider, Berkshire Maestros; I suppose you could ask your family and friends to order through them if they usually buy online. Basically, places like Amazon will pay a percentage of the order cost to you - I don't know how trustworthy the particular site you've found is though.

The school I work in organises World Challenge, and one of the fund-raising ideas is to have a car wash on an inset day. Basically, all the staff cars are in, and all the students should be free, so in the week before the inset day notices go up asking staff if they would be willing to pay £5 for a car wash - you put your name, car make, colour and registration number. Then the students come in on the inset day and wash your car, later collecting the money from you. Just a thought - it's quite hard work, but if you and your friends can manage twelve cars each in the day (takes about 30 mins per car), that's £60 each less a bit for car shampoo. Our school is happy to provide hot water - you'd have to ask yours.

I would go busking if I could figure out whether my local authorities allow it!

A few people from my school went on Lasallian, similar project. I think they got a contribution from the charities campaign the school runs at Christmas and Easter, if your school hasn't got a similar scheme you could just start one things like mock game shows with teachers, leg waxing etc. They also organised a few other things in the church hall - a quiz and a talent show/concert thing.
You could ask around any churches in the area, most of them would probably be quite happy to let you do a talk after a few of their services explaining the purpose of the trip and having buckets at the doors or something.
