According to petrat's thread, everyone seems to hate fireworks which are misused. So come and join the club!

I don't hate fireworks. I hate the idiots who misuse them and spoil it for everyone else.

Misuse of fireworks? Yes, both very annoying and very dangerous.
Add me to the list in bold print pianotheory.

And me too please.
I like fireworks - in the right hands, and preferably not soaring 3 inches above my head

I'll join - not many fireworks seem to be in responsible hands any more.
I hated fireworks after the age of 6 when I was on a train that caught fire. I would hide under the bed. Gradually I got to the stage where I could go to organised public displays. I only let off my first firework 2 years ago. You have never seen anyone stick closer to the safety regs.
However Gandalf hates fireworks, and so does one of our neighbours...he is an army explosives expert and feels people do not take enough care.
As for my hubby, he's prepared to let off display quality fireworks, but then again he's very safety conscious having had training in both physics and chemistry.
As for fireworks in the wrong hands... well what can I say!

Count me in.
Unless they're Gandalf's fireworks.
Those I don't mind.

Gandalf is my cat, or at least one of them. Cute tabby with white beard, white tummy and white socks. Very fluffy.

I have a white ringneck parakeet named Gandalf.
I'm also a big Tolkien fan though.
Your Parakeet lets off fireworks?

No, she's noisier than fireworks.
In The Hobbit Gandalf is referred to as having 'most excellent fireworks'.
I'll bet he wasn't letting them off every night from the end of September until the middle of January though.
I didn't mind a few beeing set off on Halloween. It was probably the local wiccans. Similarly at Eid it will be the local muslims, and I don't mind New Years Eve either, but continually from September to New Year is a bit much.

I don't suppose that it's the same people that let them off every night but it's a pretty safe bet that around here you can hear fireworks everynight for that 3 or 4 month period.
People must literally have money to burn.

My next door neighbour is one of the misuse of firewworks brigade and it terrifies my animals. I have to take off in the car with trembling dog and hide in a dark valley. Count me in
On the one or two occasions we've set off fireworks, we've gone around all the neighbours who we know have pets to let them know. That way it's their problem if they haven't moved "bunny" and "bunny" is terrified. Thats the responsible thing to do. Honestly Gandalf gets so scared he hides under the bed so the last thing I want to do is put myself in a position where the neighbours have not had the oppourtunity to move their guinea pigs into the garage that night to try to soften the blow.

Actually, I'd say wiccans would be more likely to be the ones celebrating Samhain quiety than setting off most of the fireworks

Poor you! We had a few during the day yesterday but otherwise they don't usually start 'til after dark..

Don't forget to add me too. The village eisteddfod is on today and some twits are setting off fireworks just outside of the hall.
