Full Version: I Have Finally Got A Piano Teacher!

Quite some time ago I posted on here about how worried I was about getting a piano teacher, and everyone was very helpful and tried to encourage me to pluck up courage and contact some one. Well, it's taken me a very long time, and quite a few unsuccessful appraches to various piano teachers, but I have finally found somebody who will take me on.

In the meantime I have managed to teach myself some of the Grade 4 syllabus, and am feeling a lot more confident about my playing. I have also bought myself a proper digital piano instead of the silly keyboard thing I bought last August.

I would like to thank everyone who gave me advice and encouragement.

Ooh - enjoy!

I really wish I had some kind of piano/keyboard skills - every so often I sit down and manage to pick out a basic tune in my right hand and feel quite pleased with myself, it all falls apart horribly when I try and add chords in the left hand though. One day I'll get some lessons myself.

Good for you Chris!

Let us know how you get on - I hope it goes well for you.

Guess what - I'd really love to play the saxophone, but whenever I've had a go on my son's the most terrible noise comes out! My son has very unkindly said that he thinks it's because my teeth are wonky sad.gif

Well done you! smile.gif

I've just auditioned a new piano teacher myself.. wasn't sure at first, until she slapped me on the shoulder to get off the seat so she could demonstrate something to me. That made me laugh!

Hope all goes well. smile.gif

Thank you. I'm starting at the end of November, so I'll give you a report then. I'm busy trying to get my scales up to scratch at the moment. I'm quite nervous!

NERVES ARE NORMAL! I even had some badges made that say it! Also some that say "my best is good enough". I hope you have a great time with the piano lessons, but don't let your son put you off the saxophone if you really want to play it. See if you can find a saxophone teacher who can give you a sample lesson with no commitment and provide an expert opinion on whether it would be possible for you to learn.
