Well thanks, my broken reeds, but I'm afraid I wish I'd never started it!!!

I thought it was a really good way of remembering Triumphale in connection with "suck seed" (succeed) until I tried to find Triumphale in my theory books, music encyclopaedias and various web sites, and couldn't find it anywhere as a term. As a description yes, eg Marche Triumphale, Marche Slave etc, but not as a theory term. So if anyone writing performance directions for G6+ writes Triumphale, because they've remembered it from here, I'm concerned that it may be wrong unsure.gif There again it may be right, but I'm going to stick to learning from the ABRSM books from now on! biggrin.gif

I'm sure I have seen "triomphale" French as a music term. In Italian, it would be written "trionfale". HTH.

In view of his hangover, the Forum Parrot decided that instead of Christmas this year, he was going to celebrate MODMAS - taking the festivities at a MODERATO or MASSIG pace. (He didn't bother incorporating the French term, since it's well known that the French can't even say "moderate" without making it "tres modere").

The forum parrot was FUOCO because he was on FIRE biggrin.gif

Perdendosi is definitely to do with getting lost but in the sense of fading away. Perdendo is the Italian verb for losing, as also the French verb Perdre (to lose) and therefore Perdu (Lost).
I do actually have a theory book at home which says 'getting lost' for Perdendosi.
Beethoven uses it a few times in his Violin/Piano sonatas.

So it's OK to not know where you are in the music and fumble about for a few bars while you find your place if it is marked Perdendosi tongue.gif I think I need a lot of that then.

The forum parrot was rescued by the RSPCA man and, as he no longer lived with his cruel but musical owner, had to sing A CAPELLA, leaving his ex-owner regretful and TRAURIG.
