I have a student approaching the end of book one of thise series and was wondering if it's too early to consider them for Grade 1. This is going to be the first student I've taken from absolute beginner to that level so want to make sure that I won't be throwing them to the lions by entering them at this stage.

Weeeellll...as I recall 'Air in F' is one of the tunes near the end of the book, and that was on the Grade 1 list a few years back, so the level is close to Grade 1.

I'd probably give them some 'real' classical pieces to get them to a settled level though, since all the others at the end of the book are arrangements of either harder piano or orchestral pieces.
