It struck me that we've now got quite a number of animals on the forum - we've got musical horses, the minister's cat, the forum parrot, and not forgetting Ianto the dragon biggrin.gif

There's also the forum birds like Goldfinch and myself!

Can anybody think of any other animals on the forum, either forum pets or members' usernames? smile.gif

Plato and Gandalf my two cats are mentioned regularly. Mainly as they seem to like listening to music lessons, or sitting on perents laps when their children are being taught.
Maizie
My name has its origins in an animal, albeit a fictional one - from Maisy the mouse from the children's books.
(Because I was searching for a rattyish name at the time. And a rat is not quite a mouse but similar; and therefore Maizie is not quite Maisy but is similar biggrin.gif)

My good friend Charlies Aunt was named after her cat and then had a nephew named after her cat!! party1.gif wacko.gif

Why didn't you just have Rat from the wind in the willows laugh.gif

The place where I first used the name Maizie already had a member named 'Rats' and I didn't want to confuse people (I should have done, though - as a few years later someone came along and named themselves 'Rat' and it did cause all sorts of comedic mistakes...)

The next problem came when I had to do an essay which was about the evolution / domestication of crops, almost every time I had to write "maize" in my notes or the essay I got it wrong - and this was being handwritten. My tutor was kind enough not to demand an explanation for my consistent mis-spelling biggrin.gif

Plato and Gandalf occupy piano stools, especially when you want to sit on them

Well, there's a lot of people here who, I'm sure, play bass instruments, which sounds just a little fishy to me... laugh.gif

Lucie walks up and down on the keyboard when I am trying to play. Dorian sits on the computer. Chloë sits on any important piece of paper I need urgently to read. Bingley lies on his back with his paws in the air anywhere warm but particularly in the basket of clean washing.

Jod, I sympathise. But we wouldn't be without them, would we?

We inherited a cat called Maizie (didn't want her name to be spelt Maisy in case she got a complex laugh.gif ) - so your name is definitely appropriate to this thread!
