I am loving GCSE music, even though we've only had 4 lessons and we're already doing coursework! We're doing music for dance at the moment. Who else is doing GCSE music?

um, school sucks

Hey,

I've just started doing GCSE music and it's ok!! Only had a few lessons, no coursework yet, been doing a bit of composing but not PROPER composing (if you know what I mean!) (if u don't, i mean u r given a starter bit of music, and then you make up a few bars by yourself, it's EASY!!!!!)

Can't wait to do the performing bit!!

I play the violin, grade 5. I think there a quite a few people on here who wanna start violin so you're not on your own!!! Good luck with it!

Luv Jade. x

Kinda......but I've only had a few lessons!!!! It makes it sooooo much easier being able to read music and play an instrument, my friend has taken GCSE music and she can't read music OR play an instrument yet....I think she's gonna take up singing lessons soon though blink.gif

What's in the GCSE exams? I don't think we have it here in Malaysia.

GCSEs (General Certificate of Secondary Education) are the exams that are taken in the UK (except Scotland) by everyone when they leave school (or before they continue on to sixth form). There are GCSEs in lots of subjects (Maths, English, Science, IT, French, Geography, Music etc.) people study for them in the last two years of school and most people take about 9 or 10 subjects (exept for the fancy people here who do about 14 wink.gif).

For GCSE music you have to do performing, composing and listening and each is (usually) weighted equally.

Jade- i know what you mean about it being easier when you can play etc
