Hi all

I have my grade 6 flute tomorrow (9am!!!). Just had my last lesson but someone came in to lock up the room as we started, so no lesson! I'm so panicky now, think I will probably be all right but am just so nervy! Just thought I'd have a moan to people who understand!!!

OK, deep breaths and calm down.

You'll be fine. Enjoy your pieces, concentrate during the scales, keep going in the sight reading and listen hard (and close your eyes) in the aural tests.

Just play through a piece or two if you haven't already done so, and have an early night.

Good luck, and smile at the examiner smile.gif goodLuck.gif

Well, I did it.... I messed up my scales completely, played about half of them wrong! Uh oh. Pieces went ok except for one major slip in the list C. Aural was fine, sight reading I got the notes but it was too slow and not enough dynamics.

Well, if you look at what you have written, your scales were not that bad, because you played half of them right.

And the rest of it looks fine. So you're well on the way to a good result. Well done and enjoy the rest of the day. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Let us know how you get on. wink.gif

Thanks! I went through the exam in my head and gave myself "estimated" marks for each bit, came up with 128 (my teacher actually hinted at 28/29 for my pieces, but i suspect lower!) so should be ok. I really wanted a distinction though, I've worked so hard for it and the scales were fine before, I think it was a case of bad exam nerves! Oh well, we shall see!

Never try to work out your result. Just relax until it arrives. Well done for getting half of the scales right and the rest almost right I expect. The important work was done long before you went into the exam room. The result should be a nice bonus. smile.gif

Thanks! You're right, the work was done before I went in, my scales were perfect yesterday and I don't usually mess up as much as I did, I think one mistake just threw me off. Everything else went ok, but I know I played the sight reading piece much too slow and with no dynamics!

I'll try to relax!

relax and think positive!

best wishes for your results biggrin.gif
