For the last two years I have looked for violin music for the carol, 'the Angel Gabriel'. I can't find it anywhere. I have scoured the internet, looked in prestigous music shops, all to no avail. Ideally I would like an arrangement for violin and cello. Failing that violin will do! Does anyone know if such a thing exists?

Quite possibly not, but why not make your own? If you don't own the vocal parts or short score, you could borrow them from a library. For the 'cello part, simplest would be to copy the bass part; a composer might write something different knowing that the other two parts were absent, but the bass part as found will conform to normal contrapuntal practice.

Also you may have more luck if you call it "Gabriel's Message"

I regret that following my recommendation won't work with this harmonisation, because Edward Stauff not only starts with consecutive octaves between soprano and bass, but repeats them later.

There is a simple but effective arrangement you could use in the Usborne Book of Christmas Carols. There are 29 carols in all, "with music for piano keyboard, recorder and guitar", though not separate parts. They are all straightforward and the book has attractive illustrations.
