I've seen this workshop mentioned and I thought it might be of interest to some parents/teachers/pupils:

---------------

The Halle Orchestra are offering interactive workshops specially designed for children up to age 14. They will be helped to develop their artistic skills using music, drama and visual art. You don't need to play a musical instrument to take part, although you should bring it along with you if you do.

The workshops start at 10am and end at 2pm with a short performance of the morning's work.

£10 per child.

Dates: 16 December and 17 February

Bridgewater Hall, Manchester, 0161 907 9000

---------------

The workshops are followed by a concert at 3pm (which sound really good fun - the February one is all music to do with bugs - The Ugly Bug Ball, Flight of the Bumble Bee, The Wasps, etc biggrin.gif)

I'm sure I've seen some other workshops for children mentioned somewhere as well, I'll post again if I come across them.

After hanging on for someone to answer the phone at the Bridgewater Hall for 10 mins it seems both these concerts are fully booked. they book in advance and the same people tend to participate in them each time.

That's obviously the reason there is very little information about them. Wonder if they get funding for them as public events?
