I am still in shock!!!!

I had my violin lesson yesterday, and I told my teacher by next week we have to decide if I should enter for grade 3 in March (to which he said we should be ok, he will test me on my sight reading next week, everything else is ok).
Then I played two pieces for him and when I finished my second one ('Jeanie with the light brown hair', B2 piece) he said.................drumroll...............'That was VERY GOOD Jo!'

I think I nearly fainted as I have been with my teacher for a year now, the first 3 months of lessons all he said was: 'Yes it's ok, but LOUDER!!', then I had 'It's ok, but..', then 'It's getting there, here and there', 'That was ok', 'that's about IT'
but never EVER EVER, That was VERY good!
and the way he said it as well, sounded like he was really impressed!

All evening yesterday all I could repeat in my head was: that was very good, that was very good....

I think I am still in 'trans' because of it!

It's amazing when that happens!

Well done! so good when people who know what they're talking about tell you you're doing well.

I nearly fell over when the head of music had been practising with me (he was going to accompany me for an exam), and said he'd heard my scales while he was waiting outside and they were excellent.

I was practicing in my room at uni, when someone knocked on the door and said I sounded really nice , when I really thought I sounded terrible

yes, I think it's just as nice when 'someone who doesn't know anything about music or violin' tells you you sound nice

I know. I didn't even know who it was. Well, I think I do now...he plays the bagpipes..
