Hi, sorry for the really short thread... it's just I'm definitely sure I've heard this piece before, but I can't quite remember the name of it. It was the first piece played on yesterday's Newsnight when they began referring to the Russian Galleries... smile.gif

I'll give the first few notes, where all notes are crotchets, unless they have [q] next to them, in which case they are quavers. All notes span in the octave from middle C to the B above that, unless they have a ^ next to them, in which case they are an octave higher. At about tempo 115:

[G F Bb C^[q] F^[q] D^ C^[q] F^[q] D^ Bb C^ G F G F] x 2

G D F[q] G[q] C G[q] A[q] F F D^ C[q] Bb[q] F ...

And the piece can be found here if you click for the video of the Latest Programme, at about 33:00, about 2/3 into the total programme. [It probably will be replaced with a newer Newsnight by 10:30pm tonight though!]

Forgive me if this is a completely obvious piece, and I should know better being a musician, but I've never been that good at remembering piece names! tongue.gif

Ah, cool! Quite quick replies too, so I guess it must be pretty well known, huh? Anyway, thanks a lot! I shall make sure to commit the name to memory! biggrin.gif
