to see Stephen Hough at Birmingham Town Hall in January?
I've been told about this concert by my music teacher, she says he's a brilliant pianist.
Anyone else heard of him? Know how good he is?
He's playing:
Mendelssohn Variations Serieuses
Webern Variations, Op 27
Beethoven Sonata in C minor, Op 111
Weber Invitation to the Dance
Chopin Waltz, Op 64 No 2; Valse Brilliante, Op 34 No 1
Saint-Saens Valse Nonchalante
Chabrier Feuille d’Album (Valse)
Debussy La plus que Lente (Valse)
Liszt Valse Oubliee No 1; Mephisto Waltz No 1

i would love to go to that concert, but sadly live too far away to get there!

I went to a concert given by Stephen Hough in Birmingham last year. He is indeed a very good pianist, but I didn't warm to him as a person - he seemed very distant. The main thing that sticks in my memory is the bright green carpet slippers

he wore for the performance.

Stephen Hough is a superb pianist. Must see!! I live in the US, so going to Birmingham, England is impossible!
