first rehearsal back after the hols tomorrow woohoo, cant wait!

agree.... i have no used in the ochestra whatsoever...

I've just joined my school orchestra yey! at the moment we're doing handel's hallelujiah (sp!!) chorus from the messiah, we're going to do it with the choir at the christmas concert.

We're doing the Messiah at school too! We only have a few weeks left to rehearse though!

i 'm the same as u but theres only 1 second flute (me)

so i m normally left on my own when i m playin

Its really funny when i m playin summert different 2 every1 else

I have to say it is HORRIBLE being principal when you first join an orchestra and when you're in an orchestra for the first time in years.

We're playing the Overture from the Marraige of Figaro by Mozart, something by Richard Rodney Bennett (think thats his name) and Shostakovach's 5th symphony.

my local orchestra rehearsal's been cancelled for the brass cos we wont have a sectional coahc because he's ill and Bizet Carmen Suite no.1 hasnt got anything interesting for the brass

altho i will have my friday night free for once......................the things we give up for the sake of music!

I've just managed to find a bar which has hired me to record all their bands every friday night, so there goes my friday's too

ive been doing friday night 6-9pm (now 6-8pm) rehearsals for the past 5+ years, but it makes you appreciation going out after orchestra or in the holidays on a friday night more.

ours are saturday mornings 9- 12.30, and I've been going to them since I was 9 (thats nearly 9 years!!!) I'd rather go on a saturday than a friday night though- by friday night I'm exhausted!
