The James Rae studies are worth a go for a showy auditon piece that's fun to play

You might like 40 modern studies by James Rae, but they may be a little too basic. Otherwise if you are looking for a classical piece then 50 classical studies for clarinet is quite good. And they are a bit harder

How about something from a film?

The Lord of the Ring pieces are available on clarinet, cause I've got them and they sound really good and are beautiful pieces of music.

Then again, the adujdicator might know them and then when you make a mistake he / she'll know.

I played the Stravinsky study that's on the current Grd. 8 list. Hated it at first but it grew on me to the point where I still play it now. Just wish I could remember for life of me which one it was....

Theo only problem with the James Rae studies is that they only go up until about grade 6, and if you are capable of playing better thatn you should, especially if it is for an audition. I would still recomend 50 Classical Studies.
