I'm teaching my Year 4s to play recorder. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to creatively practise moving from B to G?! They find it really hard. I have done some call and response with them and am thinking of getting them to practise putting the correct fingers down on the table top but any ideas from those more experienced are welcome! Thanks.

Can your pupils play G with a good tone? If yes, then I suggest playing G -B call and response first so they get the feel of lifting two fingers together. Then practise B - G with recorder on the chin, check the position of the RH thumb to ensure the recorder is properly supported, and get them to practise moving the two fingers up and down as one unit.
