Sadly, whilst some of the forum coterie were enjoying some joie de vivre, others spent two days in an IT architecture conference trying desperately to avoid the need for matchsticks to stay awake and then pack their desk up for an office move across site... not that I'm envious in any way at all unsure.gif

While clearing up, I found my Grade 5 mark sheet (from, err, 1980something ) and it turns out that I got 126. I had always thought that I had barely scraped it.

It's quite lame that this makes me happy 30 years later, but I don't care biggrin.gif

I found my old grade 8 mark sheet the other week and was delighted to find out I had got 2 marks more than I thought!! ( ok it was still a COMPLETE scrape at 105 as I went to pieces and was unwell on the day but still!)

I think that I got 103 for grade 3 and 104 for grade 4, but I might be making it up, as until about an hour ago I thought that I had got 105 for grade 5!

105 is not a scrape, it's a respectable pass if you were ill....I got 101 with no excuses other than the examiner was very generous!!! THAT is a scrape. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Thanks Flobiano!! biggrin.gif I was happy with passing, after the exam I had driven back to school and bet my music teacher a tenner I had failed!! lol laugh.gif I pretty much always just got passes, performing was never a strong point, and I got so stressed I was usually ill too... Trying out a Handbell group tonight. I may have found an alternative to my choral society! biggrin.gif

It's a really big group (about 16 people) with a LOT of bells - the bass ones are so big that they have to be struck with a mallet rather than rung. It was really fun playing handbells again after a 3 or 4 year gap, but the group is very good, so I have a lot of improvement to aim for. It's the AGM next week, so I shan't be going, but they've asked me to come back in a fortnight, so it's good so far. smile.gif

I'm a big fan of EZ - just struggling (enjoyably) with the first project in the Almanac. ohmy.gif

In fact knitting makes me feel happy, calm and successful like nothing much else smile.gif

That's the book! you must be making the aran sweater. It looks wonderful.

Yes, I identify with your knitting thoughts. Except of course when it's not going well (I don't mean struggling enjoyably - that's fine!) and when you can't see where you're going wrong. Think complex lace shawl + dropped stitches!

Apparently another EZ book is on the way for me.
