Finding out I am going to the Dolmetsch house tomorrow to try out hand made treble recorders. I am really excited!

I am very jealous (but also echo the Beware! Luckily my interaction was at the Early Music Festival and wasn't with the handmades, so it wasn't so much of a financial disaster biggrin.gif)

Today I am very happy because I cycled in to work for the first time in 16 days (due to the insanity of the last two weeks - staying late, needing to cart laptop back and forth [if Santa doesn't sort me out cycling-laptop-luggage, I shall be sorting it out in the new year]).
This would be good in and of itself, but the extra good bit is that I did my 500th commute mile on the way in to work yay.gif

(It sounds a big impressive number, but it actually amounts to only 25 days of commuting in the half-year since I started! Still, it should make it easy to make 2009 a 'record year'!)

I have another one: Reading Twilight! I avoided it for ages because I knew it was badly written, anti-feminist and total rubbish... I gave in, so I could go and see the film with friends, and I actually seriously adore that book.

Busking with a recorder pupil and my trusty Yammy keyboard. We were out yesterday with the recorder group as well and we made £140 for the Brooke Animal Hospital for their work with the brick kiln donkeys of India. It is worth asking Google about their work if you don't know about it already.

Well, I havent been able to answer this question in a while... but Whats made me happy today?

Well:
Going to my favouritist pub for dinner with my Mum and sister and seeing the Landlord who i now call my friend smile.gif
Going to my cousins 2nd Birthday party and seeing him enjoy himself!!!
Going to my grandparents and seeing my brother there too!
Going back to my favourite pub to deliver presents and seeing the genuine appreciation and shock when we gave them!!!

I love Christmas!!! wub.gif

Aw, Dawn, that's lovely. smile.gif

Someone rather special wished me a merry Christmas this evening. That would be enough in itself, but he's the first one to have actually said it (as opposed to written it) to me this year.

The wonderful music in the 9 Lessons and Carols from Kings today...and in particular the three (four if you listened to the whole thing on Radio 4 in the afternoon) solos sung by the tenor who was one of my sprogs in primary school. He was lovely when he was 8 (when I first started teaching him) and he's still lovely smile.gif and sooo talented. He was in my choir and just gorgeous to teach - I remember him being the Mayor when we did 'Rats' when he was in Year 6 *comes over all nostalgic*. He had an amazing unbroken voice and it's now a gorgeous tenor.

He's now in his last year as a choral scholar at Kings so I won't see him on TV again sad.gif .

Well done, Joel - you made my day.
