A very successful lunch, an evening of opening presents with family and friends and finding that my choices of presents were very well received, and with guests presently going to bed replete and happy. It doesn't get much better than that! smile.gif

I've had a rather muddled Christmas Day, but and ultimately enjoyable one. smile.gif

I wish... No, it was over the phone between what seems like 101 church services. smile.gif
It certainly felt like 101. I think I might delegate a tad next year! tongue.gif

The wonderful music in the 9 Lessons and Carols from Kings today...and in particular the three (four if you listened to the whole thing on Radio 4 in the afternoon) solos sung by the tenor who was one of my sprogs in primary school. He was lovely when he was 8 (when I first started teaching him) and he's still lovely smile.gif and sooo talented. He was in my choir and just gorgeous to teach - I remember him being the Mayor when we did 'Rats' when he was in Year 6 *comes over all nostalgic*. He had an amazing unbroken voice and it's now a gorgeous tenor.

He's now in his last year as a choral scholar at Kings so I won't see him on TV again sad.gif .

Well done, Joel - you made my day.

clap.gif smile.gif clap.gif smile.gif clap.gif

agree.gif Wasn't he fabulous?! We could have listened to him for hours - what a voice! wub.gif The young treble was pretty good too, and there were some different carols. I love Carols from Kings; it's a big part of my Christmas preparation.

Aw, glad you both liked Joel's voice, too...thought perhaps it was just me being biased! I couldn't help feeling terribly proud, even though I only had a tiny part to play in his musical development blush.gif .

We all (me, Him Indoors, Bag and Pa) thought that the services from Kings this year were even more sublime than usual - such wonderful music, supremely well done, and so spiritually - utterly uplifting and has made everything else on the TV this Christmas look crass... dry.gif

A nice text from a friend wishing me to get well soon and with a silly picture of their boxing day celebrations and a caption smile.gif was just nice to wake up to after one of many naps today!

A wonderful walk on the local common this morning. smile.gif True, there was a biting wind which made it feel much colder than the 3 C the thermometer read, but the light was so beautiful and it felt good to be alive.

Also nice to see how many families were out walking together up there.
nicki_flute
I didn't go for a walk, but, I went to a friend's house which is near a lovely park and there were lots of people out. Lovely sunshine.
Crotchetymum
Knowing we got through Christmas Day and Boxing Day with nothing but good cheer and good nature, which doesn't always happen blink.gif

A lovely walk yesterday - I tempted them out into the sunshine promising just a half-hour loop of a walk and everyone was enjoying it so much that I was easily able to extend into one-and-a-half hours with no complaints which, seeing that we had three teenage boys with us, was a huge achievement. No offence to any teenage boys who may read this, but ours are rather like dormice on valium at the moment smile.gif

Intriguing though... would I mix the beans with the pesto before pouring on the pasta? Where would the toast come in. I may have to experiment with this...
