Twas actually yesterday, but...playing through an entire book of studies, start to finish, pretty much as sight-reading

OK, it's only "30 Simple Studies", the clue in the title for their lack of complexity, although some appear on the LCM syllabus for G1-4.
But it was just great fun to start at the start and get all the way to the end - two of the thirty needed restarts but only because I failed to notice the new key signature (and wasn't doing 30 seconds preparation time between each one, like real sight reading, I was just going for it).
And then the postman arrived and delivered a chromatic tuner, so I then spent several minutes blowing notes at it and thinking it's no wonder that our SRP musical director gets frustrated sometimes with all these different recorders which are all uniquely tuned
