Watching a short video of half of the Bootleg Beatles doing their own little tribute on the roof of the old Apple building in Savile Row on Friday - the 40th anniversary of the Beatles' last live performance together on the same rooftop.

The Bootlegs played there to mark the 30th anniversary, but due to Westminster Council's red tape and Elf 'n' Safety bananas they were not allowed to mark the 40th in the same way .

However two of the Bootlegs (including my lovely student who 'is' George Harrison) went up there anyway and played a tiny tribute of their own. GO BOYS!!!!!!!! Yah Boo Sucks to Westminster Council!

Sitting in the warm, while it's snowing outside, ignoring the housework and watching Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor overact to their heart's content in The Taming of the Shrew, eating a bowl of cheesey puffs that my thoughtful son brought back as leftovers from his archery barbeque (yes, I know it's February and snowing, but archers are an odd lot).

The thought of only one lesson at college tomorrow, then home to BED.

And being told by my own singing teacher that today was the best he'd ever heard me sing

Snow - it always makes me regress to childhood and smile . However I have yet to do battle with the tube which will, I fear, also have 'regressed' because of the snow . . .!

Watching a group of international students having their first experience of snow. They were so excited, taking photographs to send to their families and so on...

I am VERY VERY VERY HAPPY

I had surgery on my spine last year after four years of constant pain. Now I am pain-free (!) and am starting to get fit again and it's fabulous....

.. and... my husband and I went sledging in deep snow today and it was FANTASTIC. We behaved like kids, kept falling off our sledges, laughed until our lungs hurt, got covered in snow and ended up having a big snog The sun was out, the snow was soft, the air was cold... and then we came home to hot soup and cheese-on-toast.

And I'm not in pain! I could never have done this before. I love surgeons and I feel a very nice letter to mine coming on..

I'm pleased because I got my Vaughan Wiliams essay back and got 29/30!!! I would've preferred a 30/30 but hey, at least I didn't do badly!

Getting an Open University assignment mark (I got 100%!)

Seeing photos of my friend's new grand-daughters - twin girls, born at 29 weeks - both OK and off ventilators in a matter of hours. Off to find my knitting needles!

2 birds made my day today! Firstly, I was standing in the middle of Inverness freezing my ____ off waiting for a bus this morning when the most ragamuffin pigeon I have *ever* seen (and I have seen a lot of pigeons) started wandering around at my feet. It was so scruffy! But cute.

Then, as I was on my way to wait for the bus home I decided to buy some coffee. As I left the shop I found myself face to face with a MASSIVE seagull wrestling with a cardboard box on top of a bin. I could not stop laughing... Lots of people looked at me like I was made though. Oh, but that seagull... *dissolves into fit of laughter again*

Awww that's really nice

I'm happy because I didn't sleep through my alarm this morning so I might be early enough to get parked at Uni. (Unlike two weeks ago when I missed my class because after an hour I still hadn't found anywhere within two miles to park my car!!!)

Got up at 5am, left the house at 5.45am, had a half-hour brisk stroll lit by stars and moonlight to the railway station (oh, OK, and street lights as well). Train were back to running on time (had been delayed due to flooding the last couple of days). Got across London getting a seat for one of my two tube journeys. Got the train out of London on the other side. Got the bus to work. Arrived about 8.20am I think.

None of which makes me happy, but I actually managed all this without any major panic, which makes a nice change. I only have to go through this every four months or so, so I can just about bear doing it (ask me this afternoon or tomorrow, and I'll say 'never again', but in a few weeks I'll be OK with it).

And I again very sensibly booked the afternoon off, so (a) I don't have to come home in the full-on rush hours, and (b) I can stop and do some shopping on the way home

(All this, just to deliver a 1.5 hours training course...)

Discovering I have 18 days holiday to take . . . only to be reminded that I have until 31 March to take them!
