Also, I finally got my act together and emailed a recorder-maker for advice. (I've been trying to work out what to say for the last couple of weeks!)

I *think* it went better than last time. I'd be surprised if it was worse anyway. My piano piece was almost perfect (two notes didn't sound at the end when I tried to play them quietly dry.gif), so that mark's pretty much down to whether my teacher liked my interpretation or not. The recorder piece went pretty well: a slight hesitation and my finger clipped a hole when it wasn't meant to because my hands were shaking, but otherwise it was good. I'm slightly annoyed that I missed out one of my 'flashy' ornaments, but that wasn't marked in the score, so they don't know i didn't play it. So... overall I think it was ok. unsure.gif The main thing is that it's over! biggrin.gif

My Step-Dad has turned a corner, and is mentally much better ,( but very very ill physically.)
They have transfered him to Mum's local hospital for his GP to care for his medical needs, and he can see all his community nurses again smile.gif
It will cut out the 70 mile round trip for me to take Mum to the big hospital tongue.gif
I am so so tired, emotionally, but feel much better now he is his old self to talk to. He has been a Dad to me since I was 20. wub.gif

I'm pleased you're feeling a bit better about your step-dad. Thank you too Bev for the support you've given me over the last 36 hours or so.

It's even better now that I've broken up for Easter AND that this year the exam board abolished maths coursework so for the first time EVER I don't have to wade through thirty pieces of work all of which have to come to the exact same conclusions! It's only taken myself and my husband (and a large amount of hinderance and interruption from the kids) most of the day to sort it ohmy.gif wacko.gif

We had work done in the house starting in the Autumn and running up to Christmas so it got full of all sorts of things in boxes. It then accumulated a large amount of other stuff dry.gif and we ignored it for the winter months as it's not used much then anyway.

Well today was sort-out day and what a mammoth task it was!!!!!! I now feel sleep.gif and wacko.gif but also smile.gif , biggrin.gif and hurrah.gif as it's finally done. biggrin.gif

Did you manage not to play too few verses as well? tongue.gif

One of our organists recently cut 'The head that once was crowned with thorns' short by a verse and the expressions on the faces in the congregation were priceless. laugh.gif The mistake was very obvious because I'd just picked my flute up and breathed in ready to start the last verse (I add flute to hymns as and when it suits the mood and words, as well as playing for the music group songs) and the vocalists were very obviously just about to come in - and then the organ just stopped! blink.gif There was a brief stunned silence and then the leader did the blessing as if it was intended all along. smile.gif

When that happens in our church the congregation just sing anyway - the organist can catch up if she likes, otherwise there's an unaccompanied last verse! Nothing stops Methodists from singing!

Congregation numbers have fallen in general. But ours is still fairly well supported. (At the moment anyway).
