Not making too much of a mess of playing the organ in a service. I managed not to fall off the stool or play too many verses of any of the hymns.
Also we had banana fritters for supper.

Did you manage not to play too
few verses as well?
One of our organists recently cut 'The head that once was crowned with thorns' short by a verse and the expressions on the faces in the congregation were priceless.

The mistake was
very obvious because I'd just picked my flute up and breathed in ready to start the last verse (I add flute to hymns as and when it suits the mood and words, as well as playing for the music group songs) and the vocalists were very obviously just about to come in - and then the organ just stopped!

There was a brief stunned silence and then the leader did the blessing as if it was intended all along.
