A friend of mine wasn't feeling very well and lay down on the sofa for a nap. When her daughter walked in, she saw her mother lying asleep on her back, with the cat, the rabbit, and the guinea pig all asleep on top of her!

Not having to travel to work at a different site tomorrow.
Which means I can either get home at the 'usual driving' time tomorrow instead of being miles away and late finishing and thus latehome. Or I can cycle instead and get home at the 'usual cycling' time. Had 6 weeks away from the cycling so I don't know whether to go for it again tomorrow or build it up more gradually...will also look at the weather forecast because it was So Very Hot coming home on Tuesday (but had been about 3C when I left home in the morning, so I was lumbered with sleeves...)

A wonderful lunchtime recital by Sally Daley (contralto), accompanied by Vincent Billington. The Kathleen Ferrier story. So moving we were all in tears!

I took a trip up to Durham tonight to visit my Grandma in the hospital. She suffered a mild stroke last Saturday. We visited her on Tuesday and her speech was all slurred and her mouth was somewhat crooked and she couldn't move her fingers very well. Also, she was in her dressing gown. Tonight, her speech had improved a great deal, her mouth was more or less normal, she squeezed my hand, and was dressed! She seems to be bouncing back. smile.gif

Thanks! I'm very relieved indeed. She's very much looking foward to going home, of course, but will have to "do as she's told" for now. Fingers crossed... smile.gif

Today I heard an orchestra playing Dvorak's Ninth. It was very good, and my piano teacher was playing cello in it. THe sun shone, and I felt a lot better for a while. smile.gif
