Going on holiday! Well, tomorrow I am going on holiday. So today I have come in to work, tidied some stuff up, made a nice big clear list for whoever gets to take over from me. And it's not quite half-past eleven. So I suppose that I should perhaps take a look at some of the things from the list. But I've now got my holiday head on so I'm not in the mood to work at all.

On top of which, my husband has just rung me to let me know he is finishing work early, so he is going to do some of the stuff we had to do this evening after I got back from my music lesson, so now I don't even have loads of stuff to do when I get home (plenty enough - take cat round to mother's, have dinner, pack, clean rat cage...think that's it...)

Edit: Squeee!! And in the half an hour since I posted that, I've knocked two things off of the work list. Two things that I haven't been able to do all week, that have been really annoying me but just too difficult. Relaxing is clearly a Good Thing. Now all that's left on the work list requires input from other people, so I'm very happy indeed biggrin.gif

Where are you going?
Somewhere nice?

Somewhere with no University essay requirement?

Can I come please? laugh.gif

Devon, which might be a bit of a schlep for you. Though we have more bedrooms than we need, so feel free to come along biggrin.gif

And actually, I do have an OU essay due the Friday I am on holiday - but, swot that I am, I submitted it last night so it's done and out of the way.

Now, my July holiday, the essay is due in on the Friday before we leave, so no having to cram stuff in early...and we'll be in Fort William, which is not quite so much distance for you laugh.gif

I wrote last week on the Scream thread about our cat Carlo who was very very ill. What made me happy today was that he came downstairs for the first time since his illness.

He is still shaky on his legs but it was a pleasure to see him up and about again.

Sounds wonderful!

I really enjoyed an Emma Johnson masterclass this morning with students from our local music service. Emma made lots of helpful comments and gave us a spirited rendering of the Prelude from the Finzi Bagatelles at the end of the morning.

She was quite an inspiration for my son when he was younger, and it was nice to be able to tell her so. smile.gif

I had a really good piano lesson this morning, and my Beethoven apparently sounded brilliant smile.gif
I actually ENJOYED doing the aural tests this morning! We did some things that were apparently part of the Kodaly method where my teacher played something on the piano, and I had to sing it without music, and then play it without music, and then we played it with music, and did also this in a cannon as a duet. She also talked about Sol-fa and did all these hand signs, but I couldn't remember them!

I'VE DONE IT!!!!!!

I've finally finished writing up all my seminars from the last 6 months (which I should have done at the time but kept putting off blush.gif sad.gif )

But they're done now!!!

And my project is finished and written up and set out in a presentation folder biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Which just leaves some tidying up and a few short reflections (totalling about 3k words) for Friday and I'll be finished!!! Oh and a painting to finish. The end is in sight........

(now starting to worry about passing ph34r.gif ohmy.gif )

I wasn't sure whether to put this here or in the proud thread.

A year after dropping computing (I've not so much as thought about it since, let alone programmed anything!), I managed to write a little programme to count for me and it works biggrin.gif The code's only about 3 lines long, but it's done the trick and I even managed to make it a nicer colour than the average windows-grey.

I seriously have problems counting past about two ph34r.gif I have problems counting less than a bar's rest in recorder duets wacko.gif

What I made the program for was to keep track of where I'd got to in repetitions of scales/tricky bars etc. As in I carry on practising a bit until I can play it right 3 times in a row, except 3 didn't seem to be enough, so I chose 10 instead, but I kept losing where I'd got to. ph34r.gif
