I'm cheating a bit because this was not today but last week - only my internet connection was down.

I have been thoroughly spoilt by the following gifts - a new CD player, two boxed sets of CDs - the complete works of Bach and of Mozart and - a bicycle!!

I have been semi-retired and those were the presents given to me by the staff of the lycée and primary school and the parents' association. The choices were so kind and thoughtful they made me cry!

I am still continuing to teach class music and English at the primary school one half day per week but with a different status and my instrumental teaching continues as that is a different employer. But I nolonger have any general class teaching at the primary school nor English at the lycée. So I will have time to listen to Bach and Mozart to my heart's content and will be able to ride around the country lanes as soon as I have bought a cycling helmet! Oh happy day!

Finding out that I am expecting twins. (I could also post this on the scream thread but am looking at the positives )

I need to take my flute down to AFP for it's end of warranty service. I wasn't looking forward to it because I hate London but I've discovered that gedall40 is going flute shopping there on the same day and so we're going to meet up.

BB2 and I are there on 25th July : I'm around on 21st though if you want a third opinion.

I'm going to be trying alto flutes as well - although I can't buy one until they find a buyer for my old concert flute.

Getting our Interform Athletics over and done with! Our form came second out of 7. I was only in one race this year - the 800m. I managed to come 5th out of about 10 runners, with a time of 3:26. Not a personal best, but it was cold and a bit windy, and I couldn't be bothered to speed up and sprint for the last bit.

Well it was last night to be precise, not today, but it made me happy whilst also making me sad.

I saw a friend who has been very ill and is still very ill. He was in intensive care for a long time.

Having seen him and having had a hug from him I now feel very much reassured whilst still being scared for him.

It did make me smile to see him though as it had been 2 and a half months since he was taken ill and i had seen him.

Doing some maths. I have been avoiding it for about a week, and finally sat down and did the work required. *is now up to date again*

I was chatting to mum about upgrading my flute, after my teacher talked to me about it, and am a bit reluctant to, because I love my flute so much. It's a lovely little flute, but is possibly restricting me a bit. It's my first flute and has brought me through my first year of fluting wonderfully. It's so special, and I can't bear the thought of giving it back to the shop to sell on, and someone mistreating it. But then I can't bear for it to be in a box not being played.

I might keep it for a while, so that I can use it in case I don't adjust to my new one and have a concert or something.

But then mum said that she might consider learning!!!!! And would have lessons something like once a month, and get help from me too
I'm so happy, so I can tell her off if she doesn't clean it out after every use, and say hello to it once in a while!

I danced around the kitchen when I got my uni offer letter on Christmas eve hehe....after screaming so loudly I nearly broke all the windows, falling over a chair trying to run outside to tell my parents, and crying hysterically on the floor....then we all did some dancing hahaha

Haha, that is rather amusing!

When I got my uni interview letter (after the entrance exam) (Mum brought it to me after opening it when I was out), I ran back into my workplace to tell my (long suffering) boss. She didn't answer the front door to the place immediately. (because she was on the loo ) I didn't make much sense, but I really wanted to tell her (as a former maths student herself).


Shame I then mucked up the interviews...

Quite a lot today! Fun game of water polo at the end of my swimming lesson, playing catch outside with some friends, and listening to a concert by a local orchestra and 2 soloists, who I know. I also went outside and watered the plants in the garden, in one of the sunny intervals, and went a bit mad with the hose... And now I'm posting on the forums with the kitten on my lap, purring.

Today, my friends have come back and came round to see if I was ok because I missed out on the week They're just the best!
