It hasn't yet happened, but my Dad is coming home from a business trip in a few hours. (he has only been away a few days, and only popped across to Dublin) It means he will cook some yummy meal for me later!

The fact that I've only got half a day left until the summer holidays start!!!

Got to finish IT coursework before then though...

But oh well!

NO MORE SCHOOL! I have to go in on Monday for my bassoon exam, but there are no more lessons until September,

Matthew has just invited me for a little break in Glasgow next weekend!

I normally go to the toilet for a wee break. Glasgow is a bit far; I don't think I could hold it that long

Carol said my playing was "not bad" after seeing a few video clips - so that made me quite happy

I've just found a photo on facebook from the trip away I had to miss, (because I tripped over something I knew was there and busted my knee,) where they're all lying on the floor holding their knees and laughing
It made me smile that they had thought about me not being there, and nobody had mentioned it to me, they just left it in the folder and waited for me to find it

I like that!

It was nice, I was just browsing through the hundreds of photos feeling sorry for myself because I ended up not being able to go, and then had to do a double take on one...it suddenly dawned on me what they'd done and it was really touching, they all look like they're having a fantastic time, and ripping it out of me for tripping over a ramp I've known for years was there, and they're all just lying around it laughing their heads off pretending to be in pain and holding their knees! hehehe, I did get to be a part of the trip (pun intended ) after all

Only 3 and a half more lessons until summer officially starts

An evening at my favourite pub where i've seen my friend who has been seriously ill - he spent a month in intensive care on life support, he is looking and feeling better than when i saw him on Friday... so thats made me happy . We asked him if he was taking it easy still, his response was 'i'm more like the conductor of an orchestra, i wave my arms and tell them what to do'

That and plans to have my cousin who is 2 for the day tomorrow, he's been really funny today apparently repeating everything people say so it'll be fun.

My LRSM exam is tomorrow.

A picky examiner will find lots of holes in my playing, so lets hope I get Solari in disguise.

Three weeks into the summer holiday and I look round my study. I find that I have at last caught up on almost all the backlog of work so almost anything I do now is for the future and not the past. An enormous relief. Nervous breakdown no longer looming!

It's my 24th Wedding Anniversary today I've just realised that I've now been married for just over half my life

24 years! You don't get that for murder these days!

I think I've passed my bassoon exam.

The examiner was really friendly. It was only after the exam that I noticed a sheet saying 'your examiner today will be Mr X'. I recognised the name - he examined me for Grade 4 piano 2 years ago! I remember talking to one of my friends about what a nice examiner he was.

Do criminal masterminds have a habit of doing music exams in their spare time, then?

I doubt it, but its generally not considered acceptable to mention the names of specific examiners on the forums. It starts off okay, but sooner or later can decend into a discussion of their meaness in awarding marks, quirks etc.

I sat in a boat for 3 hours and didn't get rained on.

I went to see my ill grandmother. She is rather unwell physically, but was better mood-wise than she has been for a few months. Her describing the other patients, and then my grandfather, was just great- she made me giggle.
