A 2 hour samba workshop with professionals - loud, fun and tiring! (I was playing the shaker which really makes your arms ache after a while!)
Practising our church harvest anthem ("O Lord of every constellation" by Paul Leddington Wright). We are few in number, but they did really well tonight. 
A book arrived from the US that I'd preordered and forgotten about... and it was really good.
A very good stage rehearsal. (And a very good chicken curry too! )

Managing to play my 3 pieces at a pupil's concert and only making a few minor slips. I don't think anyone noticed..

Well, my brother leaves for Afghanistan in the early hours of Sunday morning... but we've had a fab last night with him, and met his girlfriend who is a really nice person :-). While i am sad he is going, its been fab to spend the night with him!
I don't think anything's made me happy today.

You'll never feel quite so nervous again now you've cut your teeth.
A really good first sax lesson back after the summer break. I feel that we have a plan and that both myself and my teacher are committed to doing what we need to in order to meet the goals.
Watching the most wonderful Dalcroze lesson at our Guildhall INSET today. Watching the physical and totally unself-conscious expressive movement of two ten-year-old boys was breathtaking and brought tears to my eyes..

Funny how the easiest piece was the one I made the most errors in... *shrug*Off to bed now..
Another morning of music making with a singer friend. This time we will have a pianist with us also.
I'm still basking in the pleasure of last night's concert: Nicola Bendetti playing Sibelius with the RPO and Vladimar Ashkenazy.

Thinking about you soph, my cousin has just got back, I, it's such a relief now he's home, especially as 2 lads from one of our local schools weren't so lucky.

Enjoying a really good and productive practise/rehearsal session with DawnF this morning. Also gained a chocchip cake and a coffee in exchange for a bag of runner beans!

That sounds like a good swap! I'm heartily sick of runner beans after a bumper crop this year. Mr B asked a couple of weeks ago when asked what he fancied for dinner 'anything you can't find a way of sneaking beans into'. I thought my runner bean korma the night before was a work of genius!
Playing my clarinet for some residents in a nursing home - one of the ladies was called Olwen so I played the Dream of Olwen for her, and I played songs like Appleblossom Time and Daisy Bell which some of them sang along with. But best of all, I heard one of the ladies after she'd gone back to her room later in the afternoon, telling two lots of visitors how she'd sung along to Daisy Bell and she was really excited about it

Singing has made me happy today. Only singing in the house, but with Mum singing pieces and me singing other pieces, it has been good.

Confirming to myself that I'm not completely useless after last night's disastrous practice session. I was just stressed - everything is OK tonight

Playing high F on my clarinet!! It's not great but it's getting there! And the prospect of a late supper and bottle of wine, once the kids are in bed!
