Excuse me, is this the place for personal commenting.
I know some people have thought so in the past that it's the place to launch a 'mission'.

Just my observation, that's all, which is of course tempered by possible differences in perception.

Enjoy your holiday, pianodub smile.gif Where are you going?

Thanks, maggie - I don't feel unwell, I'm just IN PAIN sad.gif - managing to cope with it better than yesterday though - a) because of being on the river with lovely people and b) because I'm trusting the antibiotics will start to kick in soon...

I want to give a hurrah.gif ... a prospective sax teacher has been stringing me along for months and never actually got anything off the ground, so I've just been looking for someone else and have found details about somebody who seems really good woot.gif

The whole family is feeling happy today as in the early hours of yesterday morning our whippet gave birth to six puppies! They are all blue with white bibs and are utterly adorable.
The birth was straightforward and Tara didn't yell and scream and say "no one told me it was going to be like this" like I did when giving birth.

And thanks, skylark - the antibiotics are starting to kick in but I'm afraid I'm off school today - tried teaching Monday and Tuesday evenings and boy, did I know about it afterwards - so I reckoned that 6+ hours of non-stop talking/singing/crowd control would not be the best idea if I want to get better sooooon....

Oh Oh Oh I'm REALLY happy because someone else on here has WHIPPETS *YAYYYYYY*

I'm in love with whippets and have THREE, two of which I bred myself and celebrate their eleventh birthday next month. (I also have two Italian Greyounds and a labrador that was brought up by whippets).

Oh and "blue with white bibs" sounds utterly heavenly... I have one fawn with white trimmings, a blue brindle-parti, and a silver brindle who has faded to nearly white now (we call him Snowball sometimes). When my whippet gave birth she didn't yell and scream either but just said 'lets get this overwith so I can have my breakfast and a piddle' laugh.gif

I used to have five whippets but two are at the Rainbow Bridge now and I'll never forget them wub.gif

I love them when they're babies - you can sing them to sleep just like this chap does... http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=jCnAjel02lM (okay I know they're not whippets but you get the idea) Baby puppies smell heavenly and the little squeaky-snoffly sounds are unbelievable cute.. and they suck your pinky and pee on your jeans... *sighs with happiness*

Whippets, that's what's made me happy today *nods* laugh.gif (sorry to go on a bit.... rolleyes.gif biggrin.gif )

I am also delighted that there is another whippet fancier on this forum.

Re. the birth we had a narrow escape: Tara always sleeps on or in our bed, but for the past couple of weeks she has had to sleep in her whelping box in the utility room. Anyway at 11pm the night before the birth my husband put her away there but she looked at him so sadly that he nearly relented and let her upstairs as she wasn't due until Thursday. Well, if he had, the pups would have been born on our duvet!

Seeing Wicked in London. We saw the matinée, and have just arrived home, and it was the best musical bar none I've ever seen on the West End. And I've seen a few. It was AMAZING!

Haha I've been obsessed with it for so long, I was actually shaking while sitting in the theatre! I always thought Defying Gravity was the best song ever, and had seen all the youtube videos etc, but you can't appreciate it like watching it on stage it is spectacular. My best (straight, male) friend, who had no expectations of the musical was awestruck... I heard, from him, the words "you were right" for the first time ever.

I've heard Kerry Ellis is amazing, we had Alexia Khadime though, and she was really good too.

Dianne Pilkington was a good Glinda as well, but no one could ever beat the Cheno. I'm a big fan of Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth, so obviously nothing could beat them - but the whole cast was amazing anyway. biggrin.gif

I'll stop going on about it though.
