I handed my essay in. No matter how worried I was about it, now it's in and I can't do anything about it, so that's a relief.
Also, had a supervisor meeting and got my report from my tutor from last term, who I loved. It was entirely positive, with not a single negative comment, and I got high marks in every area.
Not only did I want that tutor to like me, but I plan to someday do a PhD involving something related to that module, so I'm very, very happy to have done well. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Slightly different from this (but still similar!), but I did the first module of my RE AS exam today biggrin.gif it's such a relief knowing that it's done now, I can't change anything now smile.gif

I bet you do fantastically well in your essay, Lucky, and well done on your tutor comments! smile.gif

So pleased things are going well for you, lucky! You seem to work very hard on your essays, and it's lovely to have such a good report.

Well done with the AS RE, Fran. I hope you get the mark you want. smile.gif

I know, it's great! biggrin.gif It was an award that I was meant to get back in September, but I had to go to Northern Ireland to set up a bank account with the bank awarding it, so I only managed to do that last week! But hey, I have it now happy.gif

I got grade 5 theory workbooks, model answers and practice paper. (Very scary stuff).
And grade 4 piano pieces, scales, sightreading. (Very, very scary stuff).

Not sure if it has made me happy or not... oh well, I like a challenge smile.gif wacko.gif

Just ordered a new good quality piano stool! woot.gif
After giving up on the stool that came with my digital piano that was at the wrong height and a chair with a cushion on top that never felt right I decided it was time I bought a comfortable stool so I can concentrate on my playing while sitting comfortably at the right height!!!! smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif

My 'cello came home. woot.gif And the repair cost a fraction of the (hugely varying) price (s) I'd been quoted by three other luthiers across London. This guy will get my business again & again. He was fantastic.

I've been asked to play in a concert alongside 3 international concert pianists! ph34r.gif biggrin.gif I'm very very excited, but at the same time rather nervous of how good they all are and how umm "interesting" my playing is! I got my saxophone back from the repairer, after a two week wait. I was starting to worry about getting it back in time because I have an audition for the Essex Youth Jazz Orchestra next weekend! To be honest, it sounds and feels even better than it did before my... little accident (I slipped on a wooden decking after a concert on the way to the equipment room).

I'm so glad to have it back! biggrin.gif

I found my Riverdance music for le grand concert tomorrow biggrin.gif Ok, well actually I think someone may have stolen it, as said person then "found" it in their folder. I was not a happy cat. dry.gif Anyway, just onwards and upwards with the playing now...

Played in a lovely concert in Galway tonight with my trio... the audience were great and we got a standing ovation.... unexpected but a great morale booster!
Violin Hero
Playing quite well in a concert last night.

I have to admit we changed the bowing from what was written for one piece and I was sing a different copy from rehearsals and the last user of that copy had not marked in the changes. My bowing got upside down in parts as a result.

Today in year seven choir, the music teacher (predominantly a woodwind teacher) was trying to sight-read her way through the accompaniment for the songs, and was getting very frustrated with it as it was a lot of unusual chords. She then went "Argghh, this is no good, we need a proper pianist!" then asked me to leave the theory I was doing and play it. I was terrified because I can't sight-read, and I made quite a few mistakes, but nobody really noticed and I was just delighted that she thought highly enough of my playing for me to give it a go smile.gif then as I was leaving, one of the really shy little girls who doesn't talk a lot grabbed my arm and said she thought I was really good at piano blush.gif I'm not even approaching good in the real world, but that at least one person thinks I can play well has made me see that perhaps I'm really not as terrible as I think smile.gif

Really looking forward to starting it, but it's my Choral rehearsal tonight, so i'll have to wait until tomorrow!
