Massed choir went mostly well (VERY difficult piece this year - it only fell apart once!) and the other items were excellent. There were 65 schools and 3,000 children taking part over the four nights! My school's band was brill - they really are amazing for a primary school.

And I met some teenagers that I taught at primary - and their parents - lovely to see them again and they all said nice things about how they wouldn't be doing today what they're doing if it hadn't been for my input .

Eldatom - actually, I don't mind whether I'm in the audience or up on stage at Fairfield - it just feels like home to me! My previous primary school choir performed there many times, supporting the Russian Army Band amongst others (all those men in uniform! *mops brow*).

And - sorry, blowing my own trumpet again here - I just had a lovely message on facebook from the mum of someone I taught in primary school, telling me that her daughter is going to graduate with a BA in musical theatre performance from Trinity College this year - and that her love of singing came from me - and that she's going to make a video as a surprise for her daughter's 21st at Easter and wants me to say a few words on it!



So all of that has Made Me Happy Today!

what made me happy this week end was manageing to get in over 9 hours of practice time (sat and sunday combined) and am really enjoying learning a new piece

Hurrah, I can get back to work on a particular piece that I got sick of the sight of (due to having an awfully printed edition).

Ooh, I know the feeling! I have enough difficulty trying to sight read with a perfectly legible copy of music in front of me, I clearly just LOVE smudgy sheet music have fun with your new books, I'm sure you will!

I've found that by buying decent editions, my enthusiasm for pieces I'd given up on has returned! Maybe I'm just too fussy!

Talking to my mum on msn from Malta - I can't go out today with my sister and friend because of my knee problems, so I'm on my own!

Hearing from a rather groggy Alpha Male Jazz Cat that he's OK after what is hopefully the last round of surgery to get him into Tip-Top Glossy-Coat condition again. He's REALLY been through it.

Sadly I can't get to him either as I am still recovering from a pelvic injury and unable to drive any real distance

Just glad the Ol' Puss is OK.

am really chuffed i just bought the "Pride and Prejudice" theme for clarinet(online)..... i doubt i will be able to play it yet but am still really chuffed i love it cant wait to get my hands on it

I saw a pretty pink purse I would really like to have on a website but it was quite expensive. When I went into a shop today to look at it they had the blue version ... but it was reduced to half-price!

Finding out that there are TWO Wagamamas in Manchester - of course, they're both too far away to make frequent visits to, and neither do deliveries, but they're there nonetheless! Chicken chilli men, here I come! (that's the name of the dish... not men made out of chicken and chilli...)

I've finished the first draft of my essay! It's over the word count, but they won't notice an extra 200 words, if I just lie about it...

there'sa Wagamama restaurant just in the town centre, but I can honestly say I've never been in before...there's always hugeee queues outside the door regardless of the time of day, so it must be pretty nice in there too

I had a little giggle myself - but then again, I tend to laugh at my own jokes.


You live in Manchester? There's one at Deansgate and one at the Printworks... And yes, the food is amazing! It's relatively healthy too, but the tastes are still incredible!

No no, sorry, I'm being highly uncommunicative tonight, I meant to put the town centre where I live sorry, it's just been one of those days I shall have to visit it sometime (not the one in Manchester! )
