And I was just being nosey! My primary choir are performing tonight - just in the massed choir (used to do solo spots but can't at the moment, for various reasons), and also the band from the same school. The Bromley Prom is held over four nights - couldn't go Monday as I was teaching, went Tuesday and last night and am up on the stage with the sprogs tonight.

Was last night good C? smile.gif

Yes, thanks - FABBY!!!

Massed choir went mostly well (VERY difficult piece this year - it only fell apart once!) and the other items were excellent. There were 65 schools and 3,000 children taking part over the four nights! My school's band was brill - they really are amazing for a primary school.

And I met some teenagers that I taught at primary - and their parents - lovely to see them again and they all said nice things about how they wouldn't be doing today what they're doing if it hadn't been for my input blush.gif .

Eldatom - actually, I don't mind whether I'm in the audience or up on stage at Fairfield - it just feels like home to me! My previous primary school choir performed there many times, supporting the Russian Army Band amongst others (all those men in uniform! *mops brow*).

And - sorry, blowing my own trumpet again here - I just had a lovely message on facebook from the mum of someone I taught in primary school, telling me that her daughter is going to graduate with a BA in musical theatre performance from Trinity College this year - and that her love of singing came from me - and that she's going to make a video as a surprise for her daughter's 21st at Easter and wants me to say a few words on it!

ohmy.gif blush.gif

So all of that has Made Me Happy Today!

Wonderful! Glad last night went so well, and that news from your ex-pupil is brilliant! biggrin.gif

Going into dancing at 7.30am to teach three new really lovely little girls (who I was really nervous about, as it's the first time I've been trusted to be the first person to teach any new dancers) and them turning out to be really nice, hard working kids smile.gif I then went in to do the ballet class and got a beautiful picture off one of the youngest ones biggrin.gif

Good rehearsal today, in fact the last few weeks classes / rehearsals have been good, plus I've put in enough practice this week for my stamina not to be lacking, so I'm looking forward to playing a gig tomorrow evening.

Hearing from a rather groggy Alpha Male Jazz Cat that he's OK after what is hopefully the last round of surgery to get him into Tip-Top Glossy-Coat condition again. He's REALLY been through it.

Sadly I can't get to him either as I am still recovering from a pelvic injury and unable to drive any real distance sad.gif

Just glad the Ol' Puss is OK.

Flicking through it, quite a lot seems manageable smile.gif

I've reverted to only having 2 pieces (plus 1 short study) on the go at any one time in my lessons now, it should mean that I get through things a lot quicker now as I can give a full week's focus to them smile.gif Already halfway to ticking one off, but the Grieg Arietta is presenting some challenges in voicing it properly - I can't believe that it's been touted as being around grade 4 on here previously! ohmy.gif

Running a fabby session on the CT ABRSM course in Southend-on-Sea!

Lovely group of people - SO responsive, interested and enthusiastic (and nearly all male!). I believe this is the first time an entire music service's instrumental staff have all done the CT course en masse.

And one lady came up to me at the end with shining eyes, declaring that she had had 'a Damascus moment' during the session...

Today I went to the library and wrote 1750 words of my 2500 word essay. It only took a few hours, since I was writing by hand and didn't have facebook to check. As I was out of the house, too, it didn't feel as hellish as usual - I was writing with a friend who was doing hers at the same time, so it was quite fun. I've just typed it up now, and been able to edit as I went too, so hopefully even the rewrites won't take so long.
I hope the second part goes as well tomorrow!
Also, Glee Club made me happy. We're learning a new song called the Tequila Samba, which is awesome.

Finding out that there are TWO Wagamamas in Manchester - of course, they're both too far away to make frequent visits to, and neither do deliveries, but they're there nonetheless! Chicken chilli men, here I come! (that's the name of the dish... not men made out of chicken and chilli...)

Depends how well written it is. ph34r.gif If the essay flows naturally and is engaging and enjoyable to read then the extra words won't notice. smile.gif If the essay is more tedious to read then they will. laugh.gif
