A lovely picture from a 7 year old pupil, of my dog beside the piano.

It's so cute... the dog is bigger than the piano laugh.gif

It's now hanging proudly on the wall smile.gif

Bag, Willard and I had a stonkingly good choir rehearsal tonight.

Think we're all still buzzing from it!

Yes indeed Cyrilla. We learned some proper German pronunciation too ! hurrah.gif All I have to do now is perfect my modal exercises for your Kodaly class tomorrow... piano.gif

Willard, if anyone can perfect modal exercises it's you, The Modes King tongue.gif rolleyes.gif laugh.gif

If only I could come to at least one rehearsal. Just one would do...

Yes, I wish you could too...last night was really fab!

*still buzzing*

wub.gif

Help, I didn't say I HAD perfected them Cyrilla... ohmy.gif
Do pop along Barry, then I can go back to singing bass. At the moment I'm pretending to be a tenor but someone will notice soon... unsure.gif

Would love to. But Wednesday is a heavy teaching evening for me, so it'd have to be a day when pupils are missing...

Cyrilla's Kodaly class (technically yesterday but still earlier this evening) when we sang some songs, practised some modes and had some fun smile.gif

Playing Bach at 5 o'clock in the morning. :-)
Maizie
Doing 2km on the cross-trainer this morning. It's only my 5th go on it, and I'm only doing 10mins at a time at the moment (first thing in the morning when I get up!) but it's an achievement for me. And I find that doing something that can be described as 'looking after myself' always makes me feel really happy ohmy.gif

I've discovered that my new clarinet does fit in my old case after all biggrin.gif Which makes me very happy because the new case is twice the size and half the convenience of the old case!

Oh, and having the G4 theory terms posted and so I could add them to my spreadsheet biggrin.gif It turns out I can remember almost all of G1-3, so now having the G4 (+5) challenge gives me something to do because work is so boring at the moment (there's nothing to do, but I still have to sit here looking busy!) [It has three columns - grade, term and definition. I hide the column with the definition in, and then write in the next column what I think the term is; which I can then compare to the actual definition]

I was going to put this too!

It was a really, really fab session - made some gorgeous music wub.gif and we thought we sounded so good we even considered going out busking...*tee hee*

We had a LOT of laughs, too.

So lots of endorphins released and the result was six very happy bunnies smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif !

This is my day...

I have the morning off college for 'study leave' - more like sleep/internet/piano leave. biggrin.gif

An exam I'm well prepared for in the afternoon, which shouldn't be too bad.

Sit around for a bit at college till the end of the day, then go to recorder lesson.

Having not had any lessons, I won't have any hwk over the weekend = lots of music time biggrin.gif

Yeah, well anyway, I'm quite happy today biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

but it's sunday early evening... sad.gif

Getting up early for the adult pupils. Early enough not to be in the usual flap, and able to eat a proper breakfast (instead of cereal bars scoffed while trying to tidy the teaching room) smile.gif

Musical activities seem to put people in a good mood, judging from everyone's posts tongue.gif

For me it was a call (albeit a short one about nothing that really mattered) from someone I cared about. Really cheered me up and I needed that.

Well, in my case, it not so much the musical activites themselves as the being able to practice, or just play around, whenever I feel like it, however I feel like it. This is quite a novelty to me, so I'm getting a real kick out of it. :-)

Wednesday eve, I played a bunch of stuff to my mom over the phone. And then there's been all the practicing in PJs, playing in the middle of the night, doing odd 10 minutes here and there through the day - sure, I love playing, but doing these things reminds me that I can now play whenever I want to and that makes me /very/ happy.

I guess what's making me happy is having the freedom to integrate practice into the rest of my life instead of it being a logistical nightmare.

Then its probably the lack of them today that is making me grumpy. Sorry body won't let me sing today and I want to. Singing makes me happy. I felt happier when some really gentle pilates stretches started to get thing moving, and I managed some gentle humming, but I know when not to push things.

I'm happy - I've done lots of work this week after a long block.

I'm not happy because I've not had time to practice for two days now and I'm way too tired tonight .... zzzzzzzzz

Doing all the manual major scales & arpeggios, chromatics, contrary motions, dims and doms, then stopping to eat pizza, then doing all the minor stuff and pedal stuff, then stopping for pudding, then doing pieces. :-)
The novelty of being able to practice at home instead of 20 miles away isn't going to wear off any time soon...

Seeing lots of happy and excited kids with their dads out to watch the football in Manchester. We stayed in a hotel right opposite the field last night and there were several at breakfast this morning, all wearing their red shirts and chattering madly about the game. It was so nice to see them doing something good together.

Funny you should say that. I had almost the same experience yesterday, but it was me (Mum) taking my son to a football match: the first time the two of us had been able to go together to watch our mutual passion, Arsenal.

I had never expected to be in this position, as our eldest two sons were not interested in football, and No. 3's interest has only dated back two or three years. It was a very, very special moment. biggrin.gif
