We're moving site at work - to a temporary location at a different town about the same distance from home as where I work now. We are there for a year until the final move to the place far too far away to countenance!
Anyway, as we are moving, we had to box up, log off, and get out of the way by noon. So our manager took us out to the pub for lunch. We all (six of us!) hung about there for a while, then went home. Got home at just gone 3pm. Decided to go out for a ride on my bike.
Which ended up being a nice 10 mile round trip, with lots of ups and downs! A taster of the commute to the new place

Just really enjoyed it

Did an Ellington / Monk playing day today. Worked through 4 tunes (Nutty, and In Walked Bud by Thelonious Monk, and A train and In A Sentimental Mood by Duke Ellington), learnt lots and feel as though I've taken the first steps to getting these tunes learnt and in my repertoire, plus lovely people, great tuition and good food in wonderful surroundings.

An e-mail from somebody I see year to year on jazz courses - we were both on the same paying day last weekend. He mailed me out of the blue to tell me just how impressed he was with the improvement in my playing since last year. It's hard sometimes to recognise sloow, incremental progress, so to get this sort of recognition is a real boost.

I haven't even started! Haven't done the washing, haven't decided what we're taking, certainly haven't thought about actually packing. What the heck - there are still 43 hours before we have to leave!
I do still remember the days when we went with small children and packing had to be more carefully regulated. I just don't need to be so organised any more though.

lucky you!!
We are trying to take 4 bikes with us and only 3 fit on the carrier, so one needs to go in the boot of our ordinarily sized car!! Hence the need to pack early and then readjust if necessary
