Well, I've deleted 400 words tonight - very sad it was too as I liked what I had put.

Bach's introductory sentence was actually a load of codswallop, so I decided that Bach didn't need an introduction and have just gone straight in about the flute sonatas.

Buying a lovely warm winter coat. ph34r.gif I've been wanting one for a couple of years, but they've always either been too expensive or ones that I really haven't liked. The one I've bought is absolutely gorgeous. wub.gif It's pure wool, in black (so will go with lots of different things), has brass buttons including 3 on each sleeve, real pockets (with buttons to close them) and a silky turquoise lining. wub.gif wub.gif The buttons don't go all the way down to the bottom, so it's easy to walk in. It's the kind of coat that would normally be around ?100, but I got it for ?30. ph34r.gif It's a bit big, but they didn't have the next size down and it does mean that I can wear really think jumpers/cardis underneath when it's very cold.

That said, even I got cold the other week when I spent 2 hours on the platform at my local station (having already spent nearly an hour waiting for a bus). wacko.gif Yes, it was snowy... and I couldn't wait inside at the station because the room was too full (which is what happens when the first northbound train of the day ends up leaving at gone 9:30 instead of the fist one going at 6:30).

After doing three weeks with no violin practice, I managed to do an hour and half today. I nearly thought I forgotten everything, but after doing about an hour of scales everything started to come back to me. I've also got my first violin lesson of 2011 booked for next Monday.

I consider myself fortunate that I don't feel the cold too much; which is just as well given the time I spend in cold churches! Talk about suffering for our art! rolleyes.gif

I also have a passing interest in trains, and have come to the conclusion that railway stations were created the coldest places on God's earth. Even in summertime they can be cold, and there are no glowing coal fires in station waiting rooms these days - just a miserable electric heater if we're lucky. sad.gif

I worked all day - but with friends, so it was fun. It was very productive, I worked in the library from 9am to 7pm, and translated a LOT of words. Got home at half seven chatted to my housemate til 11, and then checked emails to find out that I've heard back from my tutor - after having waited weeks! Also, discovered that a certain wonderful forumite had given me a ton of help with an essay.
