270 days!

Well we haven't hi-jacked for AGES!

2 emails. 1 asking me to play me recorder in a concert at Gloucester cathedral this year I did it last year and it is a wonderful place to play.
2 telling me that one of me compesitions are very like to be played in Notre dame next year

hoping for the luck to keep going for tomorrow.

Very good.

Today I am happy because;
1. My daughter made excellent progress in the potty training department
2. It is only 6 weeks until my parents fly over to stay Yippee!! ( 7 'til baby number two arrives)


And musically I feel I am making great process on the theory front (although in danger of becoming obsessed!)

Today I am happy, because it's only 13 days till I get to see my Nic Nic again, for a whole week almost and it's going to be fab

What has made me happy today...

Excellent lemon cake and very good coffee this afternoon... double helpings of both

oooo, now I reeeeally fancy lemon cake....

Being with Alpha Male Jazz Cat - now THAT makes me happy....

Thanks Nicki..can't do any page turns at the moment so it's short Czerny pieces, Traumerei, etc.etc. It's a start but still frustrating after being able to play for three or four hours before...

Thats great Daisy. But I have never been able to play for 4 hours ! I reckon an hour is about my limit at one go .

Anyway I had to smile last night. I used a different hotel from usual a,d looke dout of my window and could see an amazing number of rabbits scampering about a field, really enjoying themselves. But then I went down to dinner. On the menu was home made RABBIT PIE ! Delicious it was too.
However I was assured it wasnt made from the local ones !

I suppose Czerny exercises will help with technique...

I went for an eye test this morning. It was enormously therapeutic! Am I the only one to find enjoyment in a trip to the optician?...

I have to go for two every two years (one for eye test and the other for contact lense testing). I don't mind it. I guess £19.50 isn't too much to pay to know your eyes are healthy. Preferred the "old days" though when tests were free.

I manage to still get some discount/free exam because I am student, thank goodness, but last time it was still really expensive to get a new pair :S

Yes, have to agree..the prices of glasses in this country is extortionate really..

I was assisted by a man in a very lively shirt, who advised me apropos of the latest optical fashions. His attire injected a touch of irony.

I like visiting our optician because he is really enthused by his job. When he gets new equipment in, he explains what it does...if you get him talking about eyes, you will be there for hours. A few years ago he bought a fancy camera that takes a photo of the back of your eye, and they keep them and compare them...when he showed me my photo and said it was fine, I made the mistake of asking what sort of thing he was looking for...he opened up his 'horror photo' gallery and showed them to me. It was very interesting!
Both my husband and I have complicated eyes, and he knows the history for both of us, so that is the reason that no matter where we moved, I'd still come back to him for my eye tests - he's worth the expense, because every time I've tried somewhere else, they can't deal with me (once, as a teenager, my mum took me to an optician nearer home; and then later, as a just-left-uni no-longer-free-eye-tests I went to a big high street name).

The only bit I don't like about eye tests is that they always give me a headache One of these days I will remember to take some paracetamol before the test starts rather than leaving his office then having to go somewhere to buy painkillers and a drink!!
