Well, you have until 12 noon tomorrow to decide (and apply if appropriate). tongue.gif If it's not something you want to do then 5 years is a long time.... unsure.gif It's longer than a PhD.

Yes, me too laugh.gif It would involve no moving whatsoever.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you Pikkoloflautist! Its a good feeling having it all done with, so long as you can remember that there is nothing you can do about it now, and switch off from worrying.

I'm happy because after completely loosing my temper with an obnoxious receptionist/idiot at uni this morning, and spending a good few hours moping around feeling cross with myself for letting him get to me, my darlingest boyfriend has worked really hard to cheer me up. I think it worked, because its nice to know he cares enough to try... although I must admit, getting dinner cooked for me etcetc is all very pleasant! wub.gif

A visit to Birmingham Conservatoire yesterday (Open Day). biggrin.gif

How can so much good music come out of one place? Every door we walked past we heard wonderful music being played, from solo instruments to a full orchestra. It felt rather like arriving in heaven, although Birmingham New Street station didn't seem much like the Pearly Gates, and I don't think the lady on the ticket barrier was St Peter. wink.gif

I was going to have to go to work in London on Monday (rather than my usual Tuesday) to avoid the strike. Now I will go on Tuesday - which is a relief, as Monday is due to be 27C (and Tuesday a mere 20C smile.gif ) Really didn't fancy doing the length of the Central Line at 27C (Epping to Ealing Broadway is my journey!)

indeed, that's pretty nasty. At this time of year, I usually freeze bottles of water and bring one along anytime I expect to be on the tube longer than ten minutes.

I have played in my first concert today since playing the recorder in the school orchestra about 10 years ago.

It was incredible! I played in a horn choir (32 players), and to think after only playing for 9 months I have played my first concert is awesome! I just wished I learnt a year earlier. sad.gif

The group meets 3 times a year and everyone seems to know everyone else. (If anyone's wondering, we played as a part of Bromley Youth Concert Band concert.

Can't wait for the future and the chances to play at university etc!

Nice day for it. I bought my first bucket/chamois/shampoo/sponge etc today. Think I'll wait til slightly closer to my father's visit next week before I put them to use, though. That way the car should still be sparkly enough for me to avoid any lectures about washing it regularly....

Got a new school on board for teaching today.... the local comp...
The music had been atrocious there but new deputy is trying to sort it out. It's good for several reasons.
1) Most of my primary schools I teach in feed into it
2) Most of private pupils go there
3)in the end I'll be able to work more daytime and less evenings doing private teaching
4) Overall I should end up with more pupils as there are other schools I don't teach in feeding in
5) they are interested in me doing theory classes.

RESULT!
