TEEF!
I broke a crown late in July, snapped it off at the base, and it was right next to the front teeth. As the one behind it had no neighbour on the other side and the fron teeth felt very vulnerable, I knew I was going to be told I needed dentures - I couod have had an implant, bt it would have cost me two holidays!
I did take the private option, and after three previous bite tests and fittings, I finally got them today - and I have a proper smile and not a witchy face! My tongue is still feeling around it too often - it's made of acrylic, not my tongue, the plate, but it's gone in and now it's come out again first try. It doesn't look like my poor old mum's full set, which she used to carry around in her handbag all the time when she was 76 and doolally

and I did feel it was like the beginning of the end - false teeth? They're what OLD people have (I'm only 63

) but I'm just discovering several other people's hush-hush dentistry (I shall find that difficult to say for a while - things like "fifths and sixths" and things with lots of d's and r's in them are still taxing the old mouth)
