I feel happy today because I saw the first pink cherry blossom in flower and Spring is in the air! hurrah.gif

It's now noticeably later in the day that it becomes really dark. biggrin.gif

I think I suffer (but probably only in a minor way) from Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), and it's amazing what a difference a longer bit of daylight can make.

niceThread.gif Count your blessings, I say! Today is good because my son had an A2 Chemistry module (a bit of a scary one for him) this morning and thinks it went well - hooray! Also, it's not raining, so my imminent visit to the council rubbish tip will be drier than I feared! biggrin.gif

I think I do too, and I agree. Several of my pupils are commenting too ' oh - it was dark when I went home last week and today it's not quite dark " : )

I just got back from town with new glasses - the first I've had for 5 years smile.gif

My eyesight is twice as bad now... but I got nice new frames that don't show up the half inch thick lens, or the "giant eye" so much wacko.gif
lucky045
I had a really good, fun driving lesson. In French we watched Alvin and the Chipmunks, and later I'm going to my musical theatre group. Also, I went into town with a couple of friends and had a nice chat 3rd period today, which was nice.
Celeste
I managed to make a start on another movement of my composition. smile.gif Had some rather good French results too - I may be smiling for another few hours. smile.gif

Alvin and the Chipmunks, in French?! Wow! laugh.gif
SaxFan
Well done Miss R for the French results.

The sun this morning made me happy.... it made a change from the grey.
Rosie91
Firstly, I got 3 surprisingly good exam results back!

Secondly, our new pieces for orchestra are lovely:
Rachmaninov piano concerto no. 2
Koussevitzky double bass concerto
smile.gif although my sight reading was shocking! ph34r.gif
Devil_Fiddler
The sun and blue sky smile.gif

My friends making an effort to cheer me up because they knew I was a bit blue yesterday...

The fact that the above worked and I was happy despite some people trying there best to get me down... or so it seemed... well it made me more happy, and I was in fact in a very good mood by the time I went home smile.gif

END OF EXAMS!!!!!!!!!! biggrin.gif

Overtaking the school bus that my kids had just missed and beating it to the local bus station - the kids were most impressed with my sneaky driving - so was I !!!
maggiemay
Unusually, my teenage pupils at school, who were better at turning up and more on the ball than the (usually reliable) ones who come along after school.
ad_libitum
Even happier now I've been wearing my new specs for a few hours. I can really see!!

I hadn't had an eye test since I started teaching and I'm sure all the music reading hasn't helped them.
miss_tickle_thea
Having a day off tomorrow! smile.gif

Although evensong left a bit to be desired... sad.gif mad.gif
Aquarelle
I haven't got gastro-enteritis any more.
lottie
I signed a contract today and that made me happy smile.gif

It's going to mean an awful lot of work for the next five months but it could be a huge break for me.

We'll just have to see how it goes.

*feels nervous, excited, unsure, over-awed and a bit scared too*... but happy. rolleyes.gif laugh.gif

my piano teacher said she could tell i'd been practicing my scales biggrin.gif

Makes a change from practicing them loads and being told they're still not right.

I totally agree with you. The worst time of year for me is when you go out in the morning and it's still dark and by the time you get home it's dark again. Totally horrid...ph34r.gif

Well done Miss R for the French results.
Thanks smile.gif

A surprise visit from a friend of mine who is at uni has been the highlight of today, I think. biggrin.gif

General madness at the zoo school...

Our teacher (reading from a worksheet): Imagine you are a chemist...

My friend (half standing up and flinging out her arms, in a theatricle manner): I AM a chemist!!

Oh dear...
I do love my friends, but they really do worry me sometimes... wacko.gif

smile.gif A very nice young camera man from BBC offered to put some sound effects from their library on to a disc for me for our next choir concert. We need an air raid siren and then the All Clear. (Ask Skylark why next May!) He had come to interview King Rat and I made him a panad.

The fact that Torchwood is on again tonight... and my husband has recorded it....

And I had a lovely 2nd lesson with my newest pupil.

I'd better ask Great Aunt Liddy if I can borrow her hard hat and gas mask then! biggrin.gif

nothing bad has happened today so far - apart from no electricity this morning. so that has made me happy: nothing bad = good mood. (sometimes)
