from reading the other topics here i think i understand the situation with the new syllabus but i just want to check before i make any decisions!

i was originally planning on taking my grade 8 violin this term, and have learnt the pieces set for 03/04. However, id now like to postpone it until the spring for various reasons. I think normally i wouldnt be able to continue with the same pieces but i have heard that this time i will be able to use the 03/04 pieces in spring 05

is this correct? because if not i need to enter myself for this term or start learning new pieces!

you can relax - this year's pieces are ok for the spring exam session of 2005.

I have a student who has just broken her arm - bad luck for her. It will probably mean postponing her exam.

But at least she can play the pieces that she would have played this term!

yes that's right, you can use the old pieces in spring next year but only then- after that you'll have to learn new pieces!
