Hi all

I just wanted to drop you adult learners a note to say fair play to any of you doing exams - because it is not easy!!

Back in November I was seriously panicking about my exams and thanks to this forum and all the support and advice I got through it!

I was delighted to find out over Christmas, that I got a distinction in grade 4 singing ( my first ever singing exam!), Honours in grade 3 piano and merit in grade 3 theory exam!

I have decided to not rush in to trying to do any exams in March, as it is just too soon after Christmas and i'm finding it hard getting back into my regular practice, but I am going to aim for grade 5 singing and grade 4 piano for the summer!

Anyway I just wanted to encourage you all to keep at it, it's not easy but when you get that result in the post there is no better feeling !

Best of luck to you all doing exams in March and thanks to everyone who gave me great advice and support back in November!

Congratulations! And I agree wholeheartedly - despite getting a bad case of cold feet, I was walking around with a silly grin on my face all day when the results came out!

Congratulations newnote - very well done.

I must admit as an adult learner to violin and continuing exams with piano I am always very nervous in exams. (In fact still get nervous playing in front of people!), but oh what a high I was on when I discovered on line that I had got a Distinction in my first ever Grade 2 violin exam.

I am now back to normal lessons with my teacher and am enjoying learning new techniques again. I shall probably go in for another exam in the future but not just yet. They give you something to aim for, though at the time I think, why am I putting myself through this, but if you pass its a wonderful feeling.

Had a bad piano lesson today though!! My god, it's so up and down...

I just can't seem to get back into my regular routine of practicing and now my scales are starting to suffer again..........................................Got to get back into a routine again!

Anyway -I am going to sit down at the piano and get my head around it all!!
