Hey!

Does anyone know how to trill from an Ab to a B natural on sibelius without having to write it in semiquavers?
hello_cello
click the note, the press L and scroll down in either menu (i think the left one) until you find the trill line, that should do it.

Or you could put it in as a trill between 2 notes where you write both the notes as semibreves and then put the trill lines in - do you know how to do that?

Thanks for that David, I didn't know that and always had to write out trills in full when I needed the MIDI to sound right!

Hooray for learning!!

Put the two notes in as half the value that you want them (for example if you want a semibreve trill you would put them as two minims), then click on the bar, and on your keypad navigation click on the tab that takes you to the tremelo options - click the box in the bottom right corner which shows the trill markings. You can then change the number of trills by clicking on any of the tremelo marks.

If that makes any sense!
