I'm confused - on the form I've put my son down for the Swing band playing sax, then noticed that Barry had put in this thread that it was going to be for clarinets only. On the form it says clarinet or sax.
The swing ensemble is open to any clarinet or sax player. If anyone plays both instruments, it would be helpful to give Barry some flexibility to enable him to arrange a good balance of instruments.

Also, the piano piece I would like to play is a Grade 4 piece called "Air" by Hook. It has repeats, but in the exam you are not expected to play them - if I play it as a solo, should I play the repeats, in which case it will last 3 minutes, or should I leave them out?
By all means play the repeats if you'd like to

Or leave them out if you want to treat it as a run-through for your exam. It's entirely your choice

If by leaving them out, you're left with a piece that's only, say, 1.5 mins long, by all means play another short piece to fill your 3 min slot if you'd like to.
