Not very long now until this year's Easter Early Music Course - hurray! It's always one of the highlights of my musical year . It's a fantastic course, and the evening sessions with massed recorders, viols and voices are just out of this world! I heard from the organiser today, and although the course is almost full, she can apparently squeeze in two or three more people, so if you want to take part and haven't already booked, do get in touch with her quickly or you may be disappointed!

I wish I could go but I haven't got any Easter holidays at all this year (either at Easter or later) because the students barricaded the University for two weeks in November and as a consequence the term dates were changed and we lost the holidays.

This will be my second year of the course. I'm really looking forward to it

Drat! Meant to try and organise it this year but even if I get a place can't imagine arranging travel, costs, course fees, plus I'm still looking for work. It looks a great course though (nice contrabass(?) Jo), and maybe next year I'll look further ahead and get a place. Early Music is something I've tried to get into more recently with recorder - not quite clarinettist's territory. I've already asked Eileen for a few lessons so maybe she'll know something similar in my area.

I hope it is a success for all involved.

The schools are still active this year during the course, so I can't go Hope those who can go have fun!

I managed to get the last week of term off college today, so I won't have to miss any of the course to teach. I'm really looking forward to it. I still have to work out the logistics of getting to Ascot from the Jazz course I'm doing on the Sunday.

Thanks - I'm in festive mood already - first day of the hols, and am just deciding which instruments to take! Mustn't forget the crumhorn...... Oh - don't forget your towels, everyone (that catches some people out every year, and they don't keep any spares at the school!)
