Just wandering really, post your reasons, i saw people talking about favourites, but whats your least favourite?

Why would anyone hate one triad? Poor little things.

Why only put simple chords down - how about some dim or aug or sus or maj 7 ones etc?

only allowed three polls thingys, and i figured triads are what anyone of any level uses, people who are grade oneish arent going to be using AbMaj9-7b6's

Diminished first inversion.
It nearly cost me my ALCM diploma . I got it to identify in the Aurals. Had two goes, and got it wrong, then the examiner played the top two notes and asked me the interval, which I immediately identified as an Augmented fourth. OK , he said , then whats the triad? Ah! Diminished first inversion , I said. He still gave me 9 out of 10 for the Aurals, and I just got the pass mark overall !( dropped quite few marks on scales as well but my pieces were decent). The triad was Eflat Gflat C.

Can we please not have another thread where we digress into having a go at someone for spelling something wrong?

I don't like F#/Gb Maj
but I couldn't really think of a minor one I don't like...I would have thought, applying a bit of logic, that I wouldn't like Eb Min on the same grounds, but I have nothing against it... so I put I love them all!

OK - let's have a digression that discusses the difference between where and were or if you like the meaning of the spelling mistakes.

Its starting to look like Gb Major isn't the only unpopular thing on this thread after some of the PM's i have received.

I hate:

The idea that any chord can have an absolute value - it depends upon the context;

The assumption that C# and Db are always the same note - this is brainwashing by pianists;

Excessive use of major triads - interesting music has discords in it, and modern jazz uses lots of tetrads (mostly seventh chords);

Music based solely on harmony, with no attention to counterpoint;

Minimalism, especially "holy modal yodelling" (e.g. the more recent music of Part & Tavener);

Bad grammar, bad punctuation and spelling mistakes, when they result from absence of proof checking - I sympathise with the under-40s who experienced "child-led education" (= nobody taught them these things).
