Hi
I want to know how you start to play the trills in a piece on the flute. I dont know where or how to start! Any advice?

We'll need a few more details. Which piece is it? The period of a piece actually makes a difference to how the trills are played. Which notes are written under the 'tr' symbol?

I do not write as a flautist but when I begin to teach trills for recorder players I ask them to try out the trill notes and fingerings as slurred quavers, then triplets and then semiquavers first of all, just to get their fingers wiggling. Then we will add some simple trills to a baroque sonata movement to get the feel of them. Ornamentation is a huge subject. The editor's suggestions are usually a good start when they are included.
