to you both..... what range do you sing/ voice type are you bari-clari? How's it going? What piece(s) are you working on at the moment?
My first instrument is clarinet (and I also play other woodwinds)

, but my voice is at the higher end of the male spectrum. Haven't been singing long, but I did some Quilter and Schubert at the recent forum event in Anglesey. My teacher is katyjay (member no.275 of this forum!).
Thoroughly enjoying the singing!

I should have realised that really from your forum name! I'm a bit of a dunce when it comes to classical music really.... but recently it seems to have exploded into my life a bit

I'm slowly learning more and I think starting to learn some theory will help. I feel as if it's a whole other language and which I haven't quite got the tools to access properly yet. It's making me keen to learn though. You've sung in front of people at a forum event.?.. sounds nerve-wracking, but good!

I'm also becoming a bit addicted to music theory.... I was feeling a bit

so I taught myself up to grade 3 and did the exam in Feb and i'm waiting to see how I did.
I hear they start teaching you magic tricks at about grade 6 level..... put these chords together in the right place and the listener will feel x, y, z etc etc.... i'm looking forward to that!
Welcome to the forums Fledgling Soprano!
I'm going to be doing Grade 6 next and I love that way of looking at it! Hope you do well in your theory exam - I'm waiting for my theory result too

Excellent.... Harry Potter level spells for you then!!!

Does the clarinet work as a wand?
