Yes, but we are awaiting delivery of one great bass and one contrabass. It may become tenors and basses if all else fails but I am keeping lots of things crossed.

OK. smile.gif

If (as is looking likely) I'll have to cut one/both of my Teddington performances, I'll probably move the Handel to this concert, instead of the Purcell recorder thing.
notmusimum

Will put the form in the post this week but needed to know what was on the agenda.

I think you have your puppeteers biggrin.gif

We have a Bass Recorder so no problem with that ensemble, or the Flute one.

Emsoboe is between a Jazz Sax piece and/or Oboe solo if that doesn't clash too much.

She'll be persuaded to avoid all Handel, on Recorder, Barry biggrin.gif

Are there any other Sax players coming as we have a flexible ensemble for Saxes, with a couple of easy parts for Alto and Tenor?
petrat
No sax players apart from Barry so far, unless Skylark and Sbhoa have plans.

I'll get the puppet script to you soon. (No singing involved!) The rest is easy.

Unless sbhoa has kept it really secret, she doesn't play the sax!...

Wasn't intending to bring the sax, but if we end up with enough sax players to cater for the flexi-ensemble you have notmusimum, I'll bring it along. smile.gif
petrat
I wasn't sure what she had hidden away in those huts of hers! Slylark has one I know.
andante_in_c
I might be persuaded to give the alto sax another outing. IF the part is not difficult and No 3 son lets me take it for a Welsh outing. wink.gif

There is an easy Alto part.

Sbhoa is already in, she's going to transpose the tenor part for Clarinet. There's an easy Tenor part if anyone wants to take it and Sop and two Alto parts (emsoboe will take one). It also has a Piano accompaniment if someone wants a go at accompaning.

The piece isn't difficult, I can email you the part Andante if you want to take a look. Barry will PM you with a suggestion.

Discussed thoughts on minimum probable configuration.

Hi, assuming the piano part is also not too difficult, and if there is no one desperate to take it on, then please put me down for a go. It has been years since I have accompanied a small group on piano so anything could happen laugh.gif

If this is the sort of arrangement I think it is, I cannot believe it'll be a difficult piano part. smile.gif

As people have only just recovered from my last idiotic stunt attempt to play the clarinet, I think this may be one I sit and watch....

If anyone wants the services of our accompanist please will they get the parts to me as soon as possible. It looks as if our regular accompanist cannot attend this year and we will have to use another one who would like the music as soon as she can.

Will do, but is the option to use the harpsichord still available or will it have to be piano? (My piece is from a Bach flute sonata and it sounds so much nicer with the harpsichord smile.gif - I could bring a backing CD, but would much prefer a live accompanist). Will it be OK to e-mail you a scan, or do you want it in the post?

petrat
We do still have the harpsichord. It is my digital one rather than a real live one but it sounds good. You can email it or post it. A day or so will be fine. I'll send you my email address.

My music for Saturday has just been e-mailed. biggrin.gif
Swisscello
I trust that you received my form and cheque OK.

I see my teacher tomorrow and want his advice before sending you the accompaniment. I may be playing a movement from a vivaldi sonata in which case I too would be interested in a 'harpsicord'. (Can scan and e-mail the part).
gedall40
My accompaniment is now on its way, too.

My teacher has already approved me playing my piece, and is looking forward to hearing how it goes. I just hope I do it justice and don't let her down unsure.gif . She has arranged for me to play it with a pianist at the rehearsal she has arranged for her next group of exam victims candidates, so I shall have to play it well then, won't I? mellow.gif

Babybird2
What piece are you playing? smile.gif
gedall40
The second movement from Bach Sonata Number 2 for Flute and Harpsichord smile.gif
No, it's not the Prokofiev Gavotte - I am saving that for when we meet somewhere! laugh.gif

Our new accompanist is sorted and I am one very happy rat this evening. All I need now is my new contra bass rec to make my life complete. biggrin.gif

I have had parts from Gedall, Barry and Katyjay to pass on to her. Any more for any more?

Mine needs a bit of tweaking as I'm singing it in a transposed version. I should be able to get it to you over the weekend if that's OK.
petrat
biggrin.gif No it won't! It is all sorted! My Roland has a transpose facility. biggrin.gif Your teacher got there first. Consider it tweaked.
skylark
Did you get the email I sent you Ratty? Is everything OK?
barry-clari
Arrgh! It's the closing date! ohmy.gif

Have I sent you everything you need petrat?
petrat
Well, there was the small matter of the £500 that you were to offer as danger money

Yes, all present and correct Barry.

Any more pieces for the accompanist should be sent asap please although she did say that she was happy to read them on the day.
katyjay
Petrat, just wanted to confirm you got my recorder piece as well as the recital music?
petrat
Yes, all present and correct.
Swisscello
Just come back from half term. I scanned my parts in and e-mailed just before my departure. Can you confirm that you actually received them?
Thanks
barry-clari
petrat, are you going to be emailing things like parts for the puppet show, or will you be sending via the Royal Mail? smile.gif
petrat
Probably email. I will sort them out on friday. I have set the weekend aside to do Benllech stuff.

Good question barry-clari, and I hope we get an answer. The reason is that I got a lot of leg-pulling from people called Great Aunt May, Lavvy, Liddy (I am not sure about Addy) before going to the Leeds event in January. Then when at Leeds, certain people who were also attending (they know who they are) told me that these famous people were not actually present there.

But the confusing point for me is that after the event these same famous people started discussing me (and my car!) on the OLTVA thread as if they had been there??? unsure.gif unsure.gif unsure.gif

Well, if they were there, I survived! biggrin.gif .

Looking forward to meeting up with some new forumites at Anglesey. smile.gif

skylark
biggrin.gif Rest assured that Great Aunt May will be there and I think she and Lavvy are planning to whisk you away to the Camel Club on the Friday night. Addy and Maddy will also be at Anglesey, and Liddy is hoping to be there too.

Looking forward to seeing you again biggrin.gif
petrat
Addy won't be there because she'd dead! laugh.gif Her sister Maddie Trams will be there in spirit but alas they will not be performing on stage on this occasion as the event takes place in a place of worship and, much as I like the sentiment of making a joyful noise unto the Lord, I think that their noise would cause him nought but upset.

They will be appearing at some future date though, and I am delighted to say that Maddie has inherited the same dulcet tones as her late sister. rofl.gif rofl.gif rofl.gif

laugh.gif Don't forget Jeannie, Gerald. She's one of the quieter members but she has most definitely been in your car. Spooky... ph34r.gif

Norma has asked me to say that she is gutted that she can't be there. sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif

She was hoping to premier her new revised version of Act 2 Scene 1 where - in place of their duet "Mira o Norma" - she and Adalgisa were going to substitute "Its rainin' men". Sadly it will have to wait for another occasion.

Mole

angel.gif I will be with you in spirit, however!
The Old Lady
Great Aunt May tries to come with me, but I usually give her the slip. The reason being is that she sang on stage in Leeds 2007, and if you want to ask any of the people who were there, they will explain that she sounds like a cinder under a door. rolleyes.gif
The other thing is Gerald, you wouldn't be safe ph34r.gif Poor Mrs Gerald might get upset if May got her sticky mitts on you ohmy.gif
Just be pleased they are not performing, that's all I can say.
Skylark, do you still have photos of Leeds 2007 and the OLTVA?? That would explain a great deal to Gerald.
